I got the kit off e-bay but I'm lazy and don't want to remove the bumper. Has anyone done it without removing the bumper and if so how difficult was it? Pics would be helpful or even a walkthrough.

Yes I had yellow Lamin-X on my fogs... this is what it looks like when it burns and when you take it off (which took me forever and it leaves this crazy residue that even Goo Gone cant take off grrrrrr :flaming)

So is it a bad idea then? What other options do I have because I really want yellow fogs.

Just buy yellow bulbs in 3K HID. Avoid Lamin-X if you like to run with your fogs on a lot.

weird u guys say that about lamin x, i put them on my hatch 4 months ago , and since then there prefect, with stock fog light...either way ill take a closer look at them! i dont think it is yellow enough though, maybe the tint on the lens along with yellow fog lights would be better.
any recommandation on good cheap fogs? also dont wanna spend to much:S

Again I don't want to drop another bill on the fogs, I have 8000k for my headlights and there just going to cancel one another. I was hoping for a cheap fix.

What if I were to pick up led lights for the fogs, I know the leds have a very low heat range if any at all. But I don't know if they make them for the fogs.

Had Lamin-X film on both my 3's. The one's on the hatch I was running the stock bulbs that gave off a lot of heat. Over time (approx. 3 years) it left a small burn mark on the center of the film.
On my current 3 I was running a 3500K HID which did not give off any heat at all. Recently pulled the Lamin-X off bc I didn't like the look anymore.

3 years eh. So thats not to bad. Even if I got 2 years out of the film I'd be happy. Got a kit off e-bay and paid 20 bucks shipped so I can't complain.

I'm sure I could but I do like how the yellow fogs look vs. the clear. I have always been keen on the "JDM" styling when it comes to cars. I may even spray or wrap my side markers in orange. Would be different.

Whats wrong with 8 thou, I love em. I don't like anything higher then that. With the 8000k it gives out a light tint of blue but reminds me of beemers with original hid's. What do you run with? 6000k? I might try the yellow bulbs but I like having the yellow housing, just like the style of it.

I have 3k hids with yellow laminx. I put yellow lamin-x on my gfs car and her uncles and so far they are fine. Shes had em on for 5 months now. Shes running stock halogens. Thing is if you are driving, it should be a problem. If anything, avoid long periods of idle, since the lamin-x can heat up. But then again, how much is lamin-x? $20? If it gets burnt, simply replace it with another one. We are all ballers here lol.
As for instructions, what I did was put a piece of paper over her fogs, traced it, then cut out same shape for laminx and put it on. U can always trim off the longer ends with a blade or if its a little short, heat it up a bit and stretch it a little and u'll be fine

Truthfully not a lot of people do it but there is some out there... I've had mine smoked before (hated it) I love the amber. I even changed my clear GT tailights to the red GS ones :hawt

I thought of smoking mine too but doesn't seam practical. The tails look nice, I thinking led for my tails but i'll probably get the aftermarket ones smoked. But I'm keeping the mods light until I make my decesion on the msp3 or not.

This seems like the key.
I ordered a pair of yellows. I'll be running them along with my THL HID 3000K fogs.

ive looked everywhere for these and all i found is amber and white, if you used the white led bulb with lamin x it should work? shouldnt it? it doesnt give off any heat being led and all but it would be purely for looks cause the led bulbs dont give out much useable light

When you guys did this, did you remove the bumper or just do it from the outside? I'm thinking of doing this but there really isn't much room around the fog housing so I'm just curious.

First time, precut so straight onto the housing. Second time, was sheet and I took the fog lights out.

I actually got a sheet off e-bay and cut out 3" circles, I tried doing the install last night but I kept getting wrinkles/creases. I've done it before with the fogs out of another car with no issues. So I think I'll do it the long way and remove them. I'm graning a cold air tomorrow and therefor have to remove the bumper anyway so I'll just do them both while I'm at it. Thanks for the help.

I bought the ones straight off the lamin-x site. It was precut to the mazda 3 fogs and it had adhesive on it, but you could pull it or adjust it easily before firmly pressing it in place. The ones on ebay are probably cheap imitations which cause the film to burn.I had mines for about 4 1/2 months now and it looks exactly the same as when I bought it. It doesn't have any burn markings whatsoever. I don't keep my fogs on 24/7... I only keep them on at night or when it starts to get dark.

I got mine directly from LaminX as well (no cheap imitations)... its only been 4 months. Give it a good 1-2 years with regular fog use then post up your results ;)

I'm alright with a year or two of use. For the price it's well worth pulling the bumper off again and re-installing a new set.

mine lasted little more then a year, before they look dull. Just from sandblasting and rock abuse. Found a good slice on one side from a big rock. Damage to the glass...none :)
Now rocking a fresh set of Xpel from Sechemedia.ca (http://sechemedia.ca)

xpels are MUCH better... they're thicker and take heat better
as for yellow fogs being a "JDM" thing... uhhh... I think that's just another one of those made up fads like altezza lights
yellow bulbs provide a more proper colour anyway and are 100% legal compared to tinted film
