Clicking sound when accelerating

Has anyone experienced hearing a clicking sound from the front when accelerating? I recently heard this on mine and i can hear it when the rpm reaches around 3500. Stops when i let go of the gas or slowing down. Dont know if it's from the engine but it's driving me nuts. No clicking when idle and revving.

Hey Bunchi,

I was only able to find the TSB for drive shaft click noise, which is different than what you are experiencing and shouldn't apply to a 2008 anyway. You can only hear this when it gets to 3,500rpm and not at other speeds and rpm?

ZZB yup i also found that TSB you found thought no that's not for me. I can only hear clicks starting at 3500rpm, not just at 3500rpm. and forgot to mention, will only hear it when it's a harder acceleration. and disappears when i let go of the gas, even though it's still above 3500rpm

another question, with an SRI installed, how turbulent isthe air in the engine bay compared to having stock airbox?

Weird... Did this noise only start happening after you installed the SRI recently? I wonder if this noise has anything to do with the VVT actuators and maybe you are hearing them now with the SRI installed. I don't know... Hopefully others post up to help you out.

I refuse to believe it unless I drive/sit in another identical 08 to believe it is normal.

Ok now it's when the rpm is between 2000 - 3000 is when i hear the click. Maybe i don't hear it anymore after 3000 because of the sound of the intake. But as confirmed by ogata, my click is different from his click

Might wanna see if Jimmy can diagnose this for you Bunchi. Failing that, take it to the dealer if you're in warranty and just hope they don't just blame it on the intake...
