View Full Version : How much do you pay for your cellphone bill?

I am planning to switch from a Prepaid to a monthly plan from Fido. The rep I spoke to sounded as if I was annoyed when I was asking him questions relating to the plans online. Regardless, how much do you all pay in a month? I find myself refilling $30.00 + tax a month on my airtime minutes and sometimes twice within a month. I know some of us use their cellphone as their homephone but just thought I'd see what our mobile expenses are =) Any suggestions / thoughts would be appreciated.

Yeah I also get 450 minutes, free after 5pm, UNLIMITED INCOMING (which is a dream come true), call display, voice mail 3, fave 5 International (so long distance), and an extra 100 minutes of long distance on top of that. $53/month with Telussss!!! *heart*

OH and no contract. Month to month. And they've never changed any plan I've ever had with them in my 5 years of being a customer :) They also promise to keep my unlimited incoming and 100 long distance if I switch to an iphone. Talk about loyalty! (sort of :chuckle)

I called them and the rep told me to check their website as the plans are all they have. Sorry for asking but what is EPP?

employee purchase plan. (corporate plan basically)

your company has to have a deal with them.. most times they do... as I posted below, I'm with TD Bank and they have a deal with Rogers for a corporate plan.

I read that the grandfathered "special" features would be removed if you change to "clear" which is what is required on the Iphone?

Not necessairly. If you have an Air Miles card they will take that as an EPP plan

Keep in mind that the EPP plan is not compatible with the $5 1000 LD plan

Hmm I'm not quite sure what "change to clear" means, like switching from your regular phone to a smart phone which requires a data plan right?

I called Telus and asked them this, he did say that the company is being strict with them regarding the new iphone plans, and that there isn't much 'wiggle room' as far as adjustments to pricing goes. But I argued that I'd like to stay loyal to Telus and I've always paid my bills on time so he agreed and said those were the only features he would be able to keep. Which is still pretty good! I can't live without unlimited incoming, why should I have to pay for wrong numbers and telemarketers? :chuckle

300 anytime minutes, unlimited evenings and weekends, unlimited texts, call display, voice mail, and possibly a few other things that i cant remember.

$50.85 taxes in/month with Fido
however, i think i might lower my anytime minutes, and save a few bucks, cuz i've never come close to 300 minutes.

however, after being with fido for 2.5 years, i will never be going back to them. far too many complaints with them.

Gonna call rogers again tonight cause my phone bill is too high and im not getting enough value services for them.

Also old plan I used Iphone.. new plan I use BB bold now.

With BB's it's hard to go over 500mbs.

Also, I only call certain people. So it seemed better as I call from Waterloo to Toronto a lot. MY10 is nationwide.
