It lives in his driveway under a cover over the winter (thank goodness it's not a year round eyesore). Horrible DIY front end, knock off racing seats, running on 15" steel to boot. I laughed so much when I was driving one night and he had rear-ended someone at a pedestrian crossing. My dislike has been justified.

I know I'll get ridiculed, but I love Intrepid's..... heck, I use to own one. Drove like a dream. Comfortable ride for boththe driver and passengers. But adding a spoiler and decals is not the way to modify an Intrepid. This just looks tacky.

I used to own an intrepid too (well my parents) before I bought this mazda3. Its an amazing car. A bit heavy but the 3.5L engine was nice. Handled very well in the snow due to the weight. Smooth ride and powerful engine. I loved it

Actually, the rear spoiler adds no traction to RWD car either. It can't make downforce until the car is already moving at quite a clip. Then it doesn't matter whether the car is FWD or RWD really. It's to keep the rear end from breaking loose in a high-speed corner. Unlike one your ever going to experience on a road or freeway when driving anywhere near a legal speed.

Of course, your assertion is right. Nobody really improves their car in any meaningful way with these backyard mods. If he really wanted some visual punch, he should have opted for some other colour than silver, and not bothered with the huuuge spoiler :-)
