this morning i went out to scrape off my car, unlocked the car, pressed the trunk release button on the hatch, nothing happened, pressed it again, still nothing, it seemed like the damn button was frozen...! since i dont have a release button in my car i couldnt open the damn hatch. When i got to work, i tried the button and Kazammm, it opened. This is gonna be a long winter! :AH

thats kind of odd my sedan has the release on the inside and it has the button on the back. Mine has not frozen and it parks outside at all times

Lol, tough crowd is right! I thinks its just stupid the 2010 sport doesn't have a trunk release button on my key fob, or a release button inside in the car, I just got that button on the hatch to release it. So if it freezes up, no way of gettting in, just a little inconveienent.

How do you not have a trunk release button on your remote? The 2010 either you have the flip key which has the trunk release button or you have the smart key if you have the e package on the gt which also has the release. If you only have the flop key then there should be s keyhole. But with the e package you have the little black push button

No trunk release on my flip kep fob, and I just have the black button on the hatch. It seemed that morning the button didn't press in all the way, when I tried a cpl hours later it pushed in all the way and the hatch opened. I just have a gx, I'm guessing the gs and gt sport have the release button on their flip kep?

That's odd I had a gs as rental sedan and it had the keyhole and the trunk release on the key that's odd

Just looking at the manual now, and it says only the sedans key fob has a trunk release button. The 5 door just has the electric liftgate opener. I guess the button was a little froze. Not sure, it would just be easier if there was a hatch release lever inside the car. Just kinda sucked.

wow that is super stupid no key release on the hatch. So I was semi Rong lol. I drive a sedan and had a sedan rental hence thinking ig would all be the same.

Ooo you are not all wrong it's alotof fun to use the torch on stubborn locks but with the button well there wouldn't be much of it lefts if you torched it lol you would need a new taillight and button even possible if the connector gets charred then you will need a harness aswell as Mazda does NOT sell pigtail connectors :@

Mazda has never had a hatch release button on the key fob. Only sedans have this.

Not sure why everyone gave him a hard time. "Same thing every year..." It's a problem exclusive to the 2010's!

Maybe they will introduce a bigger LCD nav screen and introduce TPM like they should have on the 10s don't be putting them down to early though the first yer production of a redesign sadly to say is usually the test year were they figure out what works and what doesn't. Even with that said I love the car love the choice I made and I am more then happy

That sucks, never had this problem with the trunk of my 2010 Sport GS yet. But, if there is something you must get from the trunk (like a snow/ice scraper in the winter), I guess you could always fold down the back seats to access the stuff in the trunk, so not like its all locked up and you can't get in there.

on a hatch there really isnt even a need to fold down the seats lol unl;ess of course the cover is on
