hey everyone,

I went to Street performance for my 24K maintenance and unfortunately, jimmy found my transmission (after the car is hoisted up) is SWEATING. So he said its a major job and it could go get worst and I need to go get it fixed through mazda via warranty.

Now I just bought this car 4 months ago from Hyundai... and I don't records of any maintenance or repairs from before ... Also jimmy mentioned it looks like the transmission has been reassembled because of the silicon color...

will I run into issues with warranty? and I should just get them to have a look at the problem?

Thanks.

if its auto transmission then it may have already been rebuilt because with the auto mazda canada does not replace them but will take the transmission and rebuild the stuff inside but keep as much as they can in it.. if its a 5 speed then they throw them out... lol

You shouldn't have any problem with warranty coverage. Mazda can pull up any related Mazda performed service through the VIN. Even if the tranny was rebuilt by Hyundai or a 3rd party, the full waranty transferred over to you and the car is still under warranty, so if this tranny is on the way out, Mazda will cover it under warranty.

However, you might have a problem convincing them to replace the tranny at this point because of 'sweating'. This is the difference in taking your service to most Mazda dealers and someone like Jimmy at Street Performance. Most dealers would not even bring your attention to this 'sweating' condition.

when I did my last oil change I noticed sweating between the tranny and engine, The previous oil change it also showed sweating, that was at 60,000KM. Might be getting rid of the car this spring before something happens. would this be covered on the power train warranty?

Sweating? As a mechanic I only use this term to describe a slight wetness around a seal.
What exactly are you guys reffering to?
