So it's settled. I booked appointment at Selective Sound to have this unit installed on my 2010 Mazda 3 GS (auto).
I know people kept telling me to go with units that's been around longer but this unit seems interesting enough to give it a try.
I think I am going to be at Selective Sound on 19th 11am for about 4 hours lol
I hope there are things to do around there :P
Question for those who has been to SS. Do they allow you to watch them do the work on your car? Since I have zero experience with cars.. it might be interesting to see what they do to it.

I never been their but i couldn't see it being a problem..but if they don't let you watch then you can all ways go somewhere else where they will let you watch.

Like what aristeidis said, it shouldn't be a problem with you watching.
It's your car anyway, you have every right to watch.
I got my system done there on my civic...I didnt stick around to watch as the shop is in the back and you cant even see into it as you already know...I did show up a little early to pick up the car and he told me to come around back as he was almost done. I dont think hed have a problem...but I can imagine to have someone standing around watching me work for 4 hours...might get a little annoying not to mention mabye get in his way...Im not sure though he seemed like a good guy.
There isnt very much to do in the area to be honest...mabye have a friend follow you over so you guys can grab a bite or something while you wait as theres a bunch of places to eat...just not within walking distance...but I guess if you're there for 4 hours....a good hike might help kill some time lol
Don't go into the bar/pub in the same plaza as selective sound...I dont know what its called...its had SO many names but I know its a hole! DO NOT ENTER.

I would be pretty uncomfortable if someones wathcing over my shoulders trying to what I am doing , but thats just me and it takes 4.0+hours which I wouldent be able to just stand and watch.
Dont worry about selective sound they know what they are doing, what you should be worried about is the Zenesis alarm which I would strongly recommend you DONT get, stick with Viper or Compustar, Zenesis has many many issues that have come up such as battery life, durability of remote, range ect, iam sure more bad stuff is going to come out in the future before we see a great product all around

the only thing ive heard is fixed is the battery issue, I dont get why you would pay more than a viper system or compustar to get a zenesis which no one knows about and not all problems have come out.
on the positive side i called them a few weeks ago and my call was answerd right away , no waiting 10 minuites for an agent, this can mean two things, they have good customer service or no body is buying from them making them wait around for a call

I get your points.
I read pretty much only review they had on Subaru club.
But it seems like.. people who are satisfied.. just don't feel the need to write a review on it. It seems like a decent unit. And even in the review @ Subaru Club... it worked as it should. No alarm can really provide 100% protection. I think price is about the same.. not too much different between 5901 and ZN502. So I will give it a try.

The Approach Sensor on the Zenesis alarms are pretty cool
It's almost like a Smart Key. Are you getting that installed? Would love to see it in action!
I wanted to get that unit just for that! haha

I might need to double check that.
It might come with 502. I am not sure yet!
