I want to install Keyless Entry + Alarm on my 2010 Mazda3 GX. I've done some research on the web and on the forums and I realized I want either a Compustar or Viper system which seem to be the most reliable.
In terms of buying and installation, where do you guys suggest I go?
Futureshop? Audio Heaven? Any others you can recommend?

I was just thinking of getting mine installed at bestbuy since their advertising free installation on all purchases, all you have to pay for is the by pass for keyless entry.

Do you have a link showing the free installation offer? I tried searching the BestBuy website and couldn't find it. Seems like a decent offer. I'm curious, which alarm system mare you getting installed?

Its usually in their flyers where they advertise that if you buy this free installation. When I went to bestbuy the other day the guy worked out how much it would be and its roughly $400 with taxes.

I'm getting the same one except without the remote starter.
I called and I'm scheduled for this Saturday morning and it'll cost $350 after everything.
Do you think I should get the remote starter for the extra $75?

Oops sorry I meant to say without the 2-way system. Do you think the extra $75 is worth the 2-way?

The main reason why I decided to go with this one is because when the alarm goes off it shows on the remote what triggered it to go off, like which section of the car.

Yeah I do like that feature. The only question is, how far does it transmit to the receiver? I'd only be worried if I park my car in a mall parking lot but will I still be able to receive the notification on my device if it's far?

I have a 2010 GX too, and I just had a Compustar Remote Starter installed.
To be honest, it is not as useful as I had originally thought. I park in a garage at home, but if my car is parked outdoors like when I am at work, I would probably have to be outside scraping ice and snow anyways. :bang

I believe its 1000 ft or so, so if you were in a mall you wouldn't receive a notification but the alarm would still be armed. i know once the alarm is triggered it goes off for 3 minutes then silences if your turn it off but will still continue to be armed.

Hi everyone
I also have a Mazda 2010 GX and cannot decide weather I get a alarm system and keyless entry aftermarket or from the dealer. The only thing that keeps me holding it back is the warranty of the car. will it get voided if I use after market product or get it install lets say Future shop or best buy.
Hope you guys can help me decide.
thanks
