I don't know if anyone here as been following the 787 journey, but apparently this bird will finally take off! The weather forcast is not great, so pending on weather first flight would be today at 1pm local time. The following websites might be of interest to those wanting to watch the live feed:

www.boeing.com

www.newairplane.com

And as always, fligthbloggers is packed with good info:

Watched the live feed and it was great to see it take to the skies after all the delays!

The only thing that truly surprised me was the amount of wing flex!

If all goes to plan the should be landing at Boeing Field around 6:30 EST.

Is there any reason in particular? I worked at Messier-Dowty for my internship, they did the Nose Landing Gear for the 787.

Yeah, I work at Messier-Dowty. Without getting hooked up on the details, MD Toronto does the design of the nose and main gear as well as the final assembly of the gears.
