Yup saw it.....great fighter, poor sportsman.....finger and all. He couldn't even tap in time cause his other arm was trapped. Sad....could be career ending....

Fighters can verbally submit as well. Not sure why Hirota did not.

He probably was, the ref couldn't hear from all the ghey commentating

All kidding aside, if you've ever been put in a kimora or similiar hold, its very hard to pinpoint when your limb or ligaments can stretch a little bit and when it breaks/tears because of obvious reasons (case in point, Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout). If you cried uncle every time you felt a sharp pain from one of these attempts you need to get into another sport. Hirotas arm was in that position for a while, and unfortunately for him at the point of break his body was shifting, his arm was trapped, and Aoki added the extra weight from his body.....OUCH

I agree in principal, although not knowing what kind of history or bad blood there is between the two it's difficult for me to know for sure whether it was just completely bad sportsmanship, or if there was a little bit of grudge match/caught in the moment thing. Either way it's still much

the post-fight celebration was definitely over the top...regardless of bad blood, shit talking or adrenaline rush, it was in bad taste esp since he just broke the guys arm in a...ahem...glorified wrestling match...

but you can definitely tell the fighter was on adrenaline rush...he could hardly control his emotions...I mean the guy spent lotsa of time jumping up and down and working the crowd, but he didn't even bat an eye when he just grabbed the trophy from the ring girl...lol...

also...the one youtube comment I agreed with is the one that stated that when one is subjected to this kind of pain, then add adrenaline and pride, it is likely the fighter being pinned might not even have felt the tear/break until it was too late...but if he wanted to, he could've verbally tapped out...'nuff said.

and to all the commenters who tries the holier than thou move...suck it...it's a fight, and the fighters are lucky there are "rules" already...and it's entertainment...none of these guys are fighting for vengeance, national pride or anything more than just $, personal pride, and the unsatiable urge to deal out some hurt and damage...

Yup, saw it on the weekend and that was a nasty break!

To be honest, it's a fight regardless if there is any bad blood or not. If Aoki doesn't put pressure on the kimura, he would be wasting his energy and the fight wouldn't have been stopped. It's up to the other fighter to tap or verbally submit or else risk getting his arm broken as it happened here. If the other fighter has to much pride, then that's too bad. If you want to get into the ring or cage, be prepared to swallow your pride and submit physically or verbally so you can fight another day.
