I think it is possible as long as its clear there is nothing else going on. Also depends on if either of them are in relationships or not. Cus I am friends with lots of my friends boyfriends and my friends are friends with my boyfriend. But it does seem that usually someone brings up the possibility of something more. And from my experience it usually is the guy. lol

Maybe I should rephrase it, can two single people (guy/girl) be just friends? I don't think it's possible. Somebody always wants something out of the friendship. If not, they drift and go their separate ways.

im friends with my car and i view it as a girl... reasons its good...
1. never talks back!
2. only eats 2 times a week for about 40 bucks
3. i can spend more time with it than my girl friend and she wont get as mad, compared to it being another girl
4. it never gets fat...
5. always have a blast playing with it :)

Guys and Girls cant be friends IMO. Even if it starts off as just friends and later you guys progress to good friends signals ALWAYS get crossed and then you end up thinking, at least from a guys perspective. Then once that happens your mindframe changes and you see them as 'relationship' material...and well...its basically downhill from there.

whenever i have questions, that i dont want to ask my gf, ie, what to get her for bday/xmas, or i need relationship questions, or advice on sex, my female friends are top notch.

my best friend is female, and we've been friends for a long time now. the relationship thing has been brought up once or twice, but whatever. she makes a really good friend, and i wouldnt want to ruin it.

I have a best friend of mine that's a guy and he's honestly like a brother to me. He's the greatest! And we've been friends for around 7 years now with no sexual tension or wanting more from one another than friendship.

It's nice to have an opposite sex's opinion on issues you may be having in relationships or otherwise. Adam pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Nate and I are a special situation though- I have also been on the giving/receiving end of opposite sex friendships that one party has wanted more than the other.

lol, it's not always about whether the person is hot or not... some people just aren't attracted to others on an emotional level! Especially if they've known each other for a really long time and think of them as family. I have quite a few guy friends but most of them I would never consider. Not cuz they're not attractive, but because it'd just be weirdddddd.

the way you put it reads as if the act, intent or even the thought of sex would ruin the friendship :loco

i really don't think that the possibility of sex counters a relationship between friends. let's face it, in some cases ppl don't necessarily build intimate relationships with every single person they think of sleeping with. and if that person happens to be their friend the intent doesn't automatically exclude them from friendship.

it could get awkward and lead ppl apart, but i doubt that this happens in every case.
