Hey all,
I recently bought 8000k HIDs and will now be looking to replace my fogs. The question is should I go with the Nokya hyper yellow or the Nokya arctic white?
Let me know, thanks

I'm also running 8000K HIDs, and am using Nokya Hyper Yellow bulbs for the fog. Seems like everything is doing that.
If you're a non-conformist, you should run white fogs :chuckle

We have both instock, but since you have 8000k which is kinda of blue I'd say go with the Hyper Yellow. IMO it'll look better.
The 6000k might look off because your HID's are 8000k.

2500 fogs are the best yellow
fogs are suppose to be yellow, just like headlights are suppose to be white!

2500K? where do you those bulbs? Seems to be as rare as 5000k. I'd just slap some yellow film on top of 3000K fogs if you do not mind the look during the day.

I thought about going with HID fogs, but since I'm in college my funds aren't as high as they use to be lol. So HID fogs are not an option right now.
Thanks for the input.

No offense but

I would save the angel eyes for later and get HID fogs instead plus you can save up for your textbooks, etc. but thats my personal preference =)
Otherwise go for one of the Halogen options

Nokyas Yellows (2500K). Best bang for the buck.
Personally I'm not huge fan of them because they swell/bubble up after 6 months to 1 month of usage.
I'm going to get a set of Hoens Endurance Yellows this summer, however they are $50.

Why do so many people recommend HID's for fogs? Thats blinding other drivers. Unless you have proper projectors get some halogens.

I don't know if it's different for the 2010's but I just had HID 3000k fogs installed and had the gf drive the car behind me while I was in her car and it didn't blind/bother me.
Is it possible that the aiming is different on the 2010?

how are they useless..they're not as hot as halogens and they don't produce "non-blinding" light unless of course your intent is to blind people..i know for a fact because i have "non projector" fogs. how about you put HID fogs on your car and then decide if they are actually useless.
p.s. they are brighter than my headlights so are more of a help rather than a cosmetic modification

Man, learn how to spell.
What Phil is trying to say is...
HID fogs provide more light at a lower operating temperature. As long as your foglight housings are aimed low, you are fine.
Don't come on here preaching about HIDs and projectors. We are all aware of the benefits of having a projector lens with an increase in distance and light output.

Must feel good to own an Audi and to come on these forums thinking you're the sh!t.
IMO, the stock "teardrop" LEDs DRL is gay and rice. They are are as useless as a blue washer nozzle.

First of all I don't come on here “sh!tting on your parade”. I do not come on here talking like I'm "the shit". Lately I've started buying more parts for the MZ3 than my car..
Good job on having a opinion that’s yours and I have mine.
I don’t think anyone should get over 6000K lights because the output is not as good and you risk being pulled over. IMO
I actually like Mazda 3's and drive my girlfriends as much as I drive my car. Nice to see the warm welcome. I've heard there are a lot of ******** around in here. :bang

Has anyone actually been pulled over for having 8000K HIDs on a Mazda 3? The projector lenses make the light less blue than if it were installed on, say a Honda Civic. I think 8000K aftermarket HID kits look very similar to a lot of BMW or other European stock HIDs.

putting HID's into a car that doesn't come stock is illegal. Not saying you will get pulled over for it but there is a risk.

And you wonder why we're not enjoying your company.
Joining a Mazda3 forum when you own an Audi is illegal too. Not saying we'll give you a hard time about it but there is a risk of someone like me picking on you.
We KNOW the rules of the road. We don't need a smart arse Audi guy to come in and tell us that HIDs are illegal.

It was just a fact... I don't really give a shit what kind of headlights you run. Just saying it for people lurking. I'm sure there are MANY people that don’t know they are illegal.

I have 8000k HIDs and have NOT been pulled over once. I live very close to a police station and they never give me any trouble.
As stated by stevenma188 the projector causes less blue to shine so they look more of a ice burg blue :p
Now back to the original idea.. fogs lol. Think I'm going to go with the hyper yellow halogen bulbs and hope they don't crap out on me.
Thanks for everyone's input.....

maybe he likes your display pic lol, I'd say at least 98% know it's illegal to put in after market HIDS in a car. Honestly I've NEVER heard of anyone getting pulled over unless they are running 12,000k or 10,000k bulbs. :chuckle
And no I've never been pulled over for 8000k I've had police flip down their visors (rear view mirros when I was behind them) because my lights are bright, but never been pulled over nor are they blinding. I found I got more flashes from other cars running 6,000k bulbs

most people wont get pulled over with the hids. I for one have hid fogs with no shield and trust me, its bright. But knock on wood i have never gotten pulled over. To be honest it's just up to the individual cop and how he's feeling that day. Im sure if he really wanted to, he will find a way to nail you regardless if u have hids or not if you have other modifications on the car
But hids are definitely bright. I really like them they light up a wider area around the car. No regrets getting hid fogs

True. Though the stuff I used isn't lamin-x.
Agree, if you just use yellow laminx then you have the option to take it off later if you change your mind... (or whatever you plan on using)

Just know that burnt lamin-x is very hard to take off. lol
True but you gotta leave it on there a long time before it burns, and getting HID fogs is almost always a better idea... just depends on the person.
