Hello everyone!
Over the past 3 to 4 days, I've been hearing a beeping sound coming from what seems like the instrument cluster area. I originally though it might be from the enhanced key, but after reading the manual, non of the symptoms described in the book is present.
I was able to record the sound with my phone, but have no idea how to upload an audio file so if anyone can suggest a method that would be great. I can also email it to someone so that they can upload/host it.
Edit - Here's an audio clip - http://www.flickr.com/photos/mkarabulut/4268357157/
Anyway, it's a "Beep" sound that occurs randomly. When it happens, i get 10 to 20 beeps, duration between each beep is random, sometimes 2 seconds, then all of a sudden i hear 4 or 5 within a second, then slows down again, then goes away, only to return a few minutes later... I notice it happening when going really slow, say in traffic...
Anyone else experience this? Of course the first solution would be to take it to the dealer, which i will, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has experience this and if so, was a solution found?
I am blaming my gray hairs on this car!!!
Thanks Everyone!!!

Are there any lights, indicators or anything else that goes off in the mean time? Almost sounds like maybe a diagnostics code beep or something. But that is a strange pattern of beeps.

Upload it as a photobucket movie maybe?

Absolutely nothing on the dash... I checked to see if the enhanced key flashes green after i turn the car off (as per the manual) to see if it's a battery issue in with the fob, but nada... it's happening with both key fobs. literally nothing lights up on the dash

i'll try to convert the wav file to a movie file. and upload it to my flickr account.

Do you have a radar detector in the car?

Maybe in the US it is. I have no idea at all what it could be. Very weird indeed!

Thats a good one. I know you said it sounds like its comming from the cluster but check the speaker right by the nav screen

it could be coming from the speaker. i'll keep an ear out for it. I was thinking it may be because of the BT connection, so when it starts up, i'm going to disconnect my phone to see if it stops.
one person on mazda3forums suggested it may be the light sensor that notifies you of the lights being left on after the car is turned off, but it doesn't really sound like the same sound.
i'm gonna try the BT thing, so in the mean time, any other suggestions are welcome before i make my way to the dealer on friday or monday.
Thanks!!!

Ok, it was fine for a while last night, but it's come back this morning. Tried the BT thing, no change. I have no clue what it could be... Gonna take it to the dealer hopefully later today or later this week.
It's definitely not coming from the center speaker though.

Gonna drive with DSC deselected for a while to see if that's the cause, then do the same with AFS

Afs only deactivates functioning headlights. Try finding that in the owners mannual lol good louck lol. I have had my afs malfunction already because I removed headlights and tried turning on the lights. The only thing that happened for me was the afs light flashed a diag code and stayed on consistantly. Its worth a try but just giving my input

Figured out what it was... it was the instrument cluster dimmer... i just played around with it (increase/decrease illumination) and it hasn't returned since. Hopefully i'll never hear that beep again.

Good possibility that the button on the circuit board was sitting a little funny and once you hit the button it straightened it out. I'll use an example like when you get pop spilled on a button it starts to stick. That could have happened
