Hey guys ... so i have a ps3 and a xbox360 ...
the 360 is collecting dust ... so i was thinking about getting it modded ...
i know they get banned if you go online with it ... but just out of curiosity ... does anyone have a mod chip installed that hasnt got banned?
if so whats the name of the chip?

Most people don't use mod chips in the 360 though you can get them. Most just flash the dvd drive which allows the 360 to play burned games.

so if you flash the drive ... you don't get banned while trying to play that burned game on live?

Playing a burned game online is asking to get banned. You want to play online, buy the game. If you don't plan to play online, go ahead play the burned game.

No. Playing ANY game online, whether you have a modchip or flashed drive "could" result in the unit being banned. Microsoft is getting more aggressive when it comes to banning consoles/live accounts.
A lot of people who play games before they are officially released are just asking to get banned. I was going to mod mine a while back but decided not to and I'm glad I didn't.
If you don't care to play on Xbox Live, just mod it because you may get banned later on. It's basically hit and miss.

I think even playing legit games with a flashed drive can possibly get you banned. There's always that chance when you are scamming Microsoft. :)
i got banned and i never went on line
it was just a ban wave before modern warfare 2 release
MS needs to make sales some how
also know some ppl modded play on line all the time and never got hit
so it was so random no one knows why or how it got hit

hmm ... thanks for the responses ... it doesnt matter THAT MUCH if it gets banned ... because i still have the ps3 to play online ... i just didn't want it to loose its value if i ever wanted to sell it ... so i was just wondering if anyone had a chip that hasn't been banned and goes undetected ...
thanks

well if you sell it and they ban your serial # then when you sell it you need to tell them the online doesn't work for that system

yup thats what i meant about loosing some value ... either mod it and keep it ... or dont mod it and sell it later if i dont want it anymoree

Look into chips that have a "sleep" or "stealth" mode. Basically, if you want to play online you would turn the chip off with a switch or power-on method and would require a legit copy of the game. Disconnect from live when using the chip on single player backups. My PS2 was like this. My xbox had a flashed dvd drive and I wasn't so fortunate.

I have a flashed dvd and not banned......the onyl people that really got banned are those that went online before the game was released....I just turn off my online when I play a early release and put it back in 2-3 days after release and play online....good so far

As an owner of a flashed DVD drive xbox i can assure you many people did not go online with games before release and still got thier box perma banned from live...
I have since picked up another xbox for $179 and use it online with my legit titles and enjoy everything else that i dont play online on my modded box

Yep, I got banned for playing modern warfare 2 after the release date. I actually bought the game and was using a legit copy. That was my way of supporting IW for making wicked games, too bad M$ is a bitch.
