I want 2 sets of wheels/tires (winter & summer). Right now I have a set of michelin tires on the steel oem wheels.

But I want a set of alloys for the summer; I think I might just put the oem bridgestone EL-400 tires on these. Does anyone know the wheel width that will fit my 205/55/R16 tires?

---I assume there is nothing else I need to know about fitting wheels to tires? (other than the proper bolt pattern, which I think is 5/114.3) - I've briefly read the stickies.

thanks.

Why only 16" for the summer? 17"+ is more popular.

I believe 7" - 7.5" but perahps some of the tire sponsors could confirm and chime in.

As for fitting wheels to the car, make sure to check the bore size and if using alloys, ensure you have hub rings if you need them.

I was originally thinking of 17" --- but it was also recomended to me that I just keep the crappy bridgstone el-400 and wear them out, as I probably couldn't sell them for much. but i might try anyway.

thanks for the info/heads up
