I've been reading about various problems that people are getting with their relatively new M3s. I'm just curious, being an owner of a new 2010, how many of you are having problems with the 2010 models????

Nothing serious. Had my Bluetooth module replaced but aside from that, all is good. I have close to 12 000 on my 2010 GS now!!

Rattles and squeaks in a new car is normal, where did you hear that? I have an 05 and no rattles or squeaks from day 1 summer or winter might hear more with the hatch back sport than the sedan that I have,
The car is too new to pass judgment, Ownership of 2010 is too low on this site to get an accurate picture.
Have you looked at www.mazda3forums.com

I've had mine since July and it's been great. My Bluetooth stopped working, but I was able to reset it by pulling the battery for a minute. Curiously, I didn't have to reprogram the radio presets. Kudos to Mazda for that feature...

I tried everything to get my Bluetooth working again. Took it to the dealer and confirmed that it wasn't my phone and they had it for about 20 min. and said there was an internal fault within the module. Replaced it two days later and no problems since. Connects quicker than that last one when it was working!

No problems for me, but i think the paint scrapes really easily, from the slightest things

i didnt hear that, i know that....

i see people almost DAILY that come into my work asking why there vehicle with 3000kms rattles n squeaks.

its a common cabin problem that apparently has to do with all the plastics n whatnot in the cabin that need to be worked in over time.

The 'express' up/down feature didn't work on my driver's side window but the dealer fixed that in about 10 minutes via some type of electronics reset. Aside from that, no big problems since pickup in mid December.

+1... other minor issues like my cruise control disengaging... otherwise, I'm happy.

The people you see daily have 3000KM on their car, wow how odd. How many? What are they driving BMWs or a ecno box? Unfortunately most if not all cars have plastic inside so you might be right??? but like I said I have no such noises inside or out, suspension etc on my 2005 at 70,000KM and it doesn't matter summer or winter...

1) First thing i noticed when i picked up the car, the FM signal was a bit weak. After a month or two you get used to it and forget how your previous car's FM sounded.

2) Tried to lock the car with the remote once and it wouldn't do anything. Check all the doors, hatch, etc. Resolved the issue by turning the car back on and then off.

2) The rattle in the trunk and the occasional rattle in the front. It's the plastic trims rubbing, but it's gonna be hard to pin point it for a fix.

* On a side note, my friend's Mazda 3 2010's stereo system would freeze up after a BT call. You had to shut off the car and turn it back on to resolve the issue. It only happened a handful of times though.

I pick mine up on Friday and Im curious if anyone can tell me if the new 3 is good in the snow with the traction control or do I need snows as I did on my 06!

DualSoul

I think the traction control is great, but I'd still recommend snow tires.

I took a chance and stuck with my all season stock tires for this Winter. Luckily the snowfall hasn't been that bad so it's been fine so far.

I bought my 3 back in october. There is some type of mildew growing on the dash display, underneath the glass. it wasnt there when i first got the car. Its been growing to the point where i cant read it during the day. the service department is going to have to remove the whole dash to replace it.

I picked my gs sport up at the beginning of december. Ive got almost 8k on it and the only problem im having is the drivers seat is starting to fray and fall apart on the back rest part down around where your hip would rest closest to the door. I think its just from me getting in and out with a winter coat etc, but after such a short period of time it shouldnt be this bad. I took it to mazda and I knew right away they were skeptical, the service guy told me they havent had this issue with the '10's. As soon as I opened my door he took one look at it and was like "Thats deff not normal and Ill order you a new seat"
The downside is the seat is coming from japan and it will take a couple of weeks, but its nothing to worry about considering I still have a comfy seat to sit in.

There is one issue I've come accross, but its not REALLLY an issue as its more my fault..... but...

When starting the car, if I don't hold the key in the ignition position long enough, usually a full second or so,for it to ignite (start the engine) then try it again, the second time it doesn't seem to get enough spark and takes more than it would on the first turn over..... does that even make sense???

hmmm... lets see .. kinda like

1st try -> cheeee chee (release the key so it kicks back and engine doesn't start)
2nd try that starting sound lasts much longer making it sound like its struggling to start......

Its not something I do on purpose as my old 97 grand am would fire up very fast so its just habit to not hold the key over for long.......

I am getting an annoying rattle/squeak from the driver's door tweeter enclosure, however it disappears with the slightest touch.

Oh and my bumper got cracked by hitting some ice in a parking lot... it is a very small crack. nothing huge, but I do need to replace a couple of clips (if people are interested I can take a couple of pics.)

I am considering replacing the bumper, depending on how much it would cost to repair it.
