Snowboarding @ Blue Mountain. I went a wee bit too fast off a jump and caught an edge on my landing. SLAM!

Normally I wear a helmet and I have no excuse for not wearing one today but it's a well deserved lesson. Who won the superbowl the argos or 49ers?

Yay for my first concussion. :winner

I remember going off the jump, it was the highest I've ever been on a snowboard and I remember losing control. The next thing I remember is being at the top of the hill LOL, I was so dazed. I stopped at the beaver tails place and chugged a water then did a final run very slowly.
Pics of the damage? just my ugly ass face. No visible injury but I have a nice headache. Gonna try staying awake for a while.

Glad you're ok
Thanks man.

To those who go snowboarding/skiing or any extreme sport, take note. Always wear a helmet.

Glad you're okay man! I think you learned a good lesson about wearing your helmet! Take it easy for a few days. Also, you might want to consider geting checked out for a concussion. Update this post every 4 hours and we'll know you're alright.

Thanks for your concern, I certainly learned a lesson. I've been wearing a helmet every trip for more than 2 years but didn't take it this morning for some reason.

I'll post a thumbs-up in the morning to let you know I'm still alive :headbang

I was in badlands on Saturday with my helmet on. Did some rails, halfpipe. Great day.

This morning I went out with some friends who don't ride park and decided I didn't need the lid. Bad move. :chuckle
The jump I went off was one in the middle of a run. I know the mountain very well, probably better than my limits.

Good to hear that you're still coherent. Drink fluids and take some aspirin, not tylenol, or anything else. Aspirin is an anti-inflamatory and will help aleviate any pressure. If you get any sudden really bad nausea, or blurred vision, forget about posting and call 911 asap. I've had a few head trauma's and the effects can last quite a while

aah true! Always the "little ones" that mess ya up eh.

I've acutally never been in badlands LOL. Always been lazy to take that course thing.... used to hit the park much more but lost some balls as the dudes around you start getting hurt and lose their own balls LMAO. (i used balls too many times in that sentence).

I was at Blue Mountain on saturday and some dude got mad drunk and decided to go down the hill. He crashed and broke a bunch of bones and had to be taken into ambulance. What an idiot.

Glad you're ok buddy. Maybe I should start looking into a helmet, or maybe a board first lol

I completely agree about the "little ones" being the killers. It's always that and going really slow that seem to mess me up.

For badlands, or "Telus Park", you only need to pay $10 and get a picture taken for a pass. They hand you a DVD and say, "go have fun!" So dangerous.
They used to actually sit you down and talk with you/make you watch the videos before you can leave.

Oh wow, no more sit downs? LOL. I remember when it was all the rage that blue made you have that classroom session...

Glad you're alive :P

Ouch, concussions suck for sure. I got back into skiing recently, and my first purchase was a new helmet. Never used to wear one, but just seen some many people get hurt I figured it was better to spend teh cash.

You sure this is your first concussion? Cause really, more knocks to the head would really explain so much...:chuckle

Glad you're okay.
