Just a point of curiosity - I did a few quick searches but didn't see anything of relevance. Does anyone know how dealers/forum vendors charge if you provide your own oil? I have 3 jugs of synth Formula1 5w20 sitting in the garage, and wanted to use that instead of the dealer dino stuff.

Thanks!

I always bring my own oil, I get charged $39.65 (taxes included) for the filter, labour.

I think they deduct like $2 or something for the oil. (I can't remember if it was like $2 or $4)
It wasn't big for sure.

I always bring my own oil to Oakville Mazda with no issues. Just leave it in the passenger seat and let it be. Tell them at the service desk and all is well.

you can bring your own oil to the dealer. I used to do that and i think they charged like $30 for labour and the oil filter. I go Jimmy's now. I bring my own oil and filter and he charges $15

I've always brought my own oil. I recall the dealer didn't take too much off the price of an oil change (less than $5 off).

Wowsers, that really stinks - You're essentially paying for the oil whether you want it or not :P

For the dealer pretty much ya, not when you go out to a garage though. Both places I go to are $15.

Yep! That's partly why I don't go to the dealership anymore.
