lol i've been running the official telus release on my tour for the past week or 2 and it's nothing but awesomeness. I find it to be a whole lot faster, transitions are neat and also the threaded sms is great

I heard it was leaked, but have been too scurred to download it. Might just bite the bullet, back it up, and install 5.0 to see how it runs...

Just loaded on my Rogers Bold with no problems. 30 min. Love to be able to scroll through pics.
Last leak i tried my bt would not connect so we will see.

The scroll through pics is cool, but weren't you able to do that on the newer BB's anyways?? all you had to press was N for next or P for previous. My 8900 did that anyways. I guess scroll is easier though!

I just went to that site, and I was reading the bottom and came across this
The new OS 5 is a great update that you must have, but as soon as the official version is available for download, you should definitely reinstall. The above download links tend to give you the odd error and reboot, but that’s the price we pay as early adopters.

so i did the update..then i lost my BBM...right now im downloading it again..and hopefully i didnt lose my contacts :(

Just upgraded finally. Officially from Blackberry. Must say that I'm loving it so far. Will have to get used to the SMS screen, I find it a little strange as I'm SO used to the old way. But in terms of layout and such it's a great improvement. Have to see how performance is!!!!!

I can't restore them either. Boooo.

Note* Remember that if you're using a different carriers OS. to delete the vendor file.

downloaded it to my computer then installed it through desktop manager. Didn't like the fact that it erased BBM but w.e i got everything back 45 mins later

It didn't erase BBM for me.
Did you Auto Back Up your files during the install?

it always does auto backup. i got worried after it finished installing that i wouldn't get my contacts back

Yep, it auto updated, and i manuall did it from my desktop manager, however with the new bbm you can back up your contact list manually as well, which i hadn't done for months, so when it loaded, it loaded the OLD contact list with about 15 less contacts. LOL
FML. I've got back 36 now of 55 from today. BOOO!! haha such is life though i suppose. no big deal.

Right after the upgrade it tells you to do a restore. If you do that it'll be fine. I've upgraded 3 tours so far it's all good. A must, specially for the sms texting format.

Been running various versions of 5.0 on my bold for 6 to 8 months now. I Installed the newest leaked version this morning (5.0.0.464). Really happy with this one so far. Older 5.0's had a random reboot glitch. So far so good with this one. Memory use is down as well. So far I like this one the most. I'll see if the battery management is any better in a few days. The older ones had a lot of memory leaks and seemed the battery was draining very quickly.

some issues with this newest... can't lock the screen anymore... was pulling m hair out trying to figure out why, but it's a bug with the new OS.

My Rogers Bold 9700 that I picked up last week seems to have OS version 5.0.0.351. I've have no glitchs or random reboots. Everything seems to run smooth. I don't think I'll upgrade quite yet.

I've upgraded to .442 and it's way better than .351. smoother transitions, lower load times for browser and lightning fast reading of pictures on media card.
I think battery life improved a little bit too.

Man, all these improvements are making me wanna get a blackberry over the iphone. I guess I have until June to decide, when my contract runs out.

I should have clarified... I have the bold 9000. The 9700 comes with 5.0 loaded.

weird...thats what I have...and my phone keeps randomly freezing and resetting.
