My right HID went out on that super cold day...
Just wondering how i can go about checking if its the blub or the ballist or wiring issue?

Swap bulbs with the one thats working. If it doesn't work, its the ballast.

Swap all components until you find the piece that's not working (bulb/ballast/ignitor). This will narrow it down.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but you can also hear the ballast. It makes some electrical noise. Even if the bulb is not working, i think the ballast is still being powered so it should make some noise

What sucks now is the cheap kits the igniter/ballast are in the same unit. So if one goes, you gotta replace the whole damn thing.

That is true, but its also really cheap to replace and you'll get warranty for it too.

True. I'm still using the old components with separate ignitors. At least with the ignitor/ballast built in, it's 1 less thing to worry about. It's either the bulb or the other part lol.

ya i wouldn't know where to replace just the one part thats gone.... i think im just going to upgrade to 55w lights and get something that i don't need to constantly worry about replacing...
recommendations?

55w is even worse, most are just "over charged" 35w units, ditto goes for bulbs.

can anyone recommend a sponsor/brand to pick up preferable with a lifetime warranty i saw a recent post about the 30$ ddm with life time? but they seem kinda cheap i don't wanna keep doing this yearly :/ i dont mind spending the money.... i just not sure what to get :S
also.. does this justify buying coil overs? :D

Lifetime warranty never works out. I bought 2 kits that were lifetime and the seller bailed on his responsibility. Just find a seller who is legit and will stand by their word and product.
Yes it does. :chuckle

We don't have the 55W kits but we have great 35W slim kits that come with 18 month warranty and we stand by our product!
