Just picked up my 2007 Mazda 3 sport GT, the tires on it are the stock Eagles and worn down pretty low. What's a good set of all seasons to get? Any recommendations on places in the GTA to get them? Thanks, loving the car so far. Some minor quibbles but it's a used car, so...

don't get BFGoodrich Traction T/A. They are worse than stock and I am currently sliding all over the place on dry roads. They basically turn rock hard in the cold.

What is your budget? Also try searching the forum and you will find loads of info, such as the info found in the wheel and tire sub forum. As for where to buy, check the sponsors section. I've bought from both Exclusive Wheel and Tires and Simply Tires. Both shops are run by great guys.

My budget is $500 - $600, I've learned that I don't want to over-cheapout on tires.

As they say, all-seasons are no-seasons!
You mentioned not cheaping out on tires. Get a seperate set for summer and winter. We live in Canada afterall. :)

+1.

As for the question on a recommendation, what things are important to you in a tire? For instance, are you more performance minded, or do you care more about tire quietness and a smoother ride feel.

A lot of members here run the Falken Ziex ZE-912 which is a great all-round tire for a regular Mazda3. They are in your price range and while not dirt cheap, they do offer a high level of performance relative to the price when compared to similiar tires.

You may want to send a PM to our tire sponsors on here such as Simply Tire or Exclusive and see what they recommend for you.

Thanks for the replies! To answer your questions, I'm not performance minded. I simply want a good set of all seasons that will work reasonably well in all conditions. I realize winter tires are the way to go, but the initial cost plus storage will keep me away for a bit yet until I pay this car off. Those Falkens look like what I need, thanks for the tip.

I quite like my toyo proxes 4's ... which I use as my summer tire. I haven't tried them in the winter though, so no idea how they'd be then. They are technically all seasons though. Honestly though, snow tires are well worth the price...eventually you have to replace the tires on your car anyway, the snows will make the summers last longer and visa versa.

Ya when I was looking into tires, the Falken 912s seem to come up quite often. Then seem to be a good deal for the price, but be aware that although they are rated as an all-seanson tire, you probably don't want to use them in the winter.

On a sidenote, I'm disappointed how little snowfall we got this year. Almost makes you wonder if they were necessary.

looks like you want the nokian wr's, the jack of all trades master of none tire.

and this should be in the wheels and tires section.

Totally agree, don't cheap out and it will keep you and others on the road safer as well.

Like everyone said one rock one set of wheels for summer and another for winter

For the summer tire setup

The Barum Bravuris 2 is a great affordable tire, much better then the stock RSA's, made by Continental so you know that they will perform well:

for winter 16" steelies and any generic snow tire will do the trick
