Just ordered a new PC actually..just waiting to get the parts...I at least have the parts list :)
2022
I have a few older ones kicking around still that server as media servers..
Toshiba Laptop - AMD Dual Core @ 1.8, 2Gigs Ram, 160Gig HD, and 1TB external - this is my media server for my main TV.
P3 1.2 :loco, 1/2 gig Ram, ~300Gig HD, Rage 128 Pro :loco...had this for 13 years now I think..still runs like a champ on the original HD, fully customized case.
http://home.cogeco.ca/~jerremy/pc/pict0230.jpg
Another Box with some AMD chip in it. And a Dell P4 @ 2.2 I think, 500Meg ram...this may replace the laptop as a media server.
In the house I also have my work laptop...HP AMD Turion Dual Core @ 2.0 GHz, 3Gigs Ram, 160Gig. HD, Actually works really decent, older work laptop HP Pentium M, 1.7GHx, 1Gig Ram...this just sits hooked up to cable modem for work purposes, no actual use.
And my g/f has a Toshiba 13" laptop, cant remember the specs.
Ive never been a PC gamer :), console FTW!

Yeah, its bizarre. I put so much effort to build & organize the cable, configuring eye-infinity,
and the setup is perfectly done, but i now just use it for websurfing. :loco

Reviving an old thread but I just got a couple budget upgrades for my computer
Stats now...
CPU: Intel core 2 quad Q6600 (B3 revision)
CPU cooler: Corsair H50 with dual-fan upgrade
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
RAM: Mushkin DDR2 2x2gb 1066 mhz
Video card(s): BFG 9800GT OC 512mb
Power supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000w
I found a stable overclock for my CPU at 3.51 ghz (stock speed 2.4) and right now I am testing my settings in OCCT for a 3.6 ghz overclock. People have gotten this chip with this motherboard to 4.05 ghz before. Not sure on their stability tests, but I did see one Q6600 overclocked to 3.75 ghz on this mobo that seemed pretty stable.
Also, this is a P45 Intel chipset board that has dual pci-e slots to run dual GPU. Out of the box it only supports crossfire. My dad and I had identical BFG 9800GT OC which as people know is an nvidia card. I have a hack on the motherboard that unlocks the ability to run SLI and will be putting the second video card in as soon as I get my flexible SLI bridge cable in the mail. The only place I could find them is on Ebay so I ordered one for about $10. My buddy sold me his old 8800GTX to use in my dad's computer, which is slightly better than his 9800GT OC I took, anyway.
I got the PSU new recently, $190 plus tax or something. I got the Gigabyte board for $140 (only used for a month) and the Q6600 for $80, both off different people on Kijiji. I sold my old Asus P5QL-E board for $40 and my old core 2 quad Q8200 for $60 both on Kijiji. All in all $190 I needed to spend anyway (my old 500w Antec PSU that came with my case was dieing) and $120 spent on a great mobo/cpu upgrade. My Q8200 was a stubborn butt hole that wouldn't overclock past 2.8 ghz. I can't wait to get that SLI bridge and run some benchmarks against my friend. He has a mobo with nvidia 780i chipset or something, same Q6600 at 3.375 ghz, 800 mhz 2x2gb ram, and a single GTX 260 card with 896mb ram
