Am I correct in reading that the turn signals can be any colour?

I just picked up a set of aftermarket LED tails, and am using the OEM clear bulbs for my signals...since these new tails have clear lenses instead of amber, my rear signals are now a bright white. Is this legal?

They can't be "any" colour. White, red or amber won't give you any trouble. Any other colour will though.

Read the HTA; I don't know that I'd trust that forum to be accurate. You have to read between the lines somewhat with the HTA though. Like CWP said, you can get away with white, red, and amber but there's no guarantee that you won't get picked off by the popo. I had white front turn signals for years and never had any trouble.

I would also like to add that red is illegal for the front signals. They can only be used for the rear.

Agreed. Don't use red or blue for the front.

I had purple/blacklight bulbs but never had any issue with police

Do you have a pic of these?

All im thinking is the retro days when anything white glows.....

Some people can get away with it and some people cant. IT really is disgression to the cop.

Anything other then white yellow and red is an excuse for the cops to pull you over. Most ppl don't need the hasle of them having an excuse

The above posters are right. It's up to the cop's discretion whether it's legal or not at that moment. If you fight it in court, it's up to how the judge defines the wording in the HTA.

I agree with the wording in HTA. But I would ask this question.

Is it worth putting colored bulbs, knowing that you can get pulled over, wasting a day to go to court and fight off a ticket?

For the hassle it isn't worth it.

I put red LED's but then broke the sidemarker's clips :( will be a while before I put em back but they do look awesome with the smoked reflectors :)

Personally, I wouldn't do anything to my car that gives the police an excuse to pull me over. I know it's all about the discretion of the cop, and it doesn't happen too often, but still, not worth it IMHO. Same goes for illegal tints. I always get a light shade on the front.

it probably not legal as nothing is, but im sure you wont have a problem with it. just annoying other drivers with blinding turnsignals, and in my opinion is a bit ricey but to each thier own!
