Okay, this may seem weird..

I noticed recently that something directly under my carpet is loose. I can pat down near where the hook is that holds my floor mat in place, and it sounds like metal-on-metal hitting. It makes a "zing" noise. Really weird to be completely honest.

Its not the hook or the mount for that matter, cause I held the hook and patted down, and its def. something underneath.

Has anyone experienced this or have a slight clue to as what it may be? I'm thinking it could be a loose heat shield on the inside of the car, under the carpet.

Help would be great. I hate dealer visits and don't have the time. Besides, the last thing I want is my whole interior having to come out to fix this issue since the bumper-to-bumper warranty is expired, even though I have the 6/160 MAP.

Coin that got under the mat?

It probably wouldn't be that hard to look under the carpet yourself. I think there is enough of a gap in front of where the seat holds it down. Pull off the door sill scuff plate, pull out the Christmas tree fasteners that hold the carpet down. You should be able to lift the carpet enough to peer in with a light... you might need to use a stick or a piece of pipe to reach in and lift the carpet up.
