My '10 Mazda 3 is about 3 months old and I've started to notice that when I press or apply the clutch pedal, it makes a squeak noise about 15% on the way in. It's not an extremely loud noise but it's fairly noticeable. Is this normal? My clutch pedal was completely silent on my '95 Civic...

Thats a different problem than this one. If you read the post, this noise happens when the clutch pedal is used in general, the other post is related to the clutch/gas chatter.

Well my clutch pedal problems should be gone soon. Mazda is replacing my whole pedal assembly under warranty. I suggest you get yours checked out as well.

Which dealership is this? I just called Mazda of Toronto and they're gonna have a look at it this Saturday. She said she's replaced 1 clutch pedal already (due to pedal squeaking) so I think mine might be replaced as well.

I've got the same noise on my '07 at the moment. Haven't had it checked out though.

My clutch doesnt squeak, but makes a small click half way in and out. Only 1500 k (brand new). I've had all 3 generations of mazda (pretege 5, '06 3 and now 2010 3) The protege clutch was squeaky and chattery after about 50,000 and the entire assembly was replaced on recall. The second one chattery from the get go but got better with time. Maybe you just need some jig-a-loo.

I'm just curious, what kind of squeaking did you get? Was it just when the pedal is pushed down?

It was squeaky when the pedal is pushed down and also when it rebounds on the up. Had a grinding feeling as well.

Yeah mine is basically the same, when I press down on the clutch pedal, there's a squeak or creaking sound at about 20% down. Was it Merilyn who looked at yours? I'm worried they're gonna say that mine isn't too serious and not offer to replace it.

Yeah it was Merilyn who looked after me. Have it looked at asap since you're still on warranty man.

mine has squeaked ever since i got my new clutch plate installed in the fall, its worked-in finally now.

not that bad really, i only noticed it in my underground cuz everything echos. im pretty sure its gone now.

mine is not like this tho, just needed to get worked-in as i had a new engine put in and clutchplate.
you should probably get yours checked at the dealership if you have a '10

I think mine squeaks everytime but I normally only notice it in our underground lot (less ambient noise there). Both on the up and down stroke.

Clutch was replaced at MoT today with no hassle at all. The grinding and squeak is now gone. But the real question is "for how long?"
