I have a Compustar 2-way alarm system, it's been about 3 months since its been installed. Has anyone ever heard of the alarm unlocking the vehicle by itself? I've noticed that when I go to my car in the morning before work that the car is unlocked, even thought I'm 100% positive I've locked it the night before - and this has happened numerous times. Anyone ever experience this?

Look at your 2 way remote; does it say auto?

It doesn't say "auto" anywhere on the remote, no.

Can you walk away from the car without locking it and it locks on it's own, or walk towards it and it unlocks? I'm sure you already know, but the compustar pro has an auto lock / unlock feature. Which model do you have?

Strange, I was never aware of this feature. I'm not sure if this feature is even available in my model because when I look at the manual, it doesn't mention this anywhere. I've never tried walking away from the care WITHOUT locking it for obvious reasons so I wouldn't know if this happens. All I know is that when I get home from work, I lock my car and go inside my house (The remote still has a connection to the car since the car is literally next to my house). Then I go to my car the next morning and the vehicle is unlocked. This doesn't happen all the time, maybe just 1 in 15 times but I have no clue why it's happening.

maybe you should bring it back to were you got it or to selective sound or audio haven to get this checked out?? because ive looked a couple of times and seen you been having nothing but problems and viper & compustar are the best ones out there

Do you have a list of commands on the back of the remote? On mine (compustar pro 900 something something) the second list #1 is auto. Just hold button 1 and it enables auto lock/unlock. There are 3 settings on this feature.

Nope, no auto function. Mine is this model: http://www.compustar.com/ownerscorner/usermanuals/old2way/2WAMR_manualE_F.pdf so I think it doesn't even have the "auto" function since it's on the lower end of the 2 way alarm models.

Oh Jeez and I thought I was insane, cause my compustar is doing the same thing also, sometimes. Maybe someone unlocked my car with their compustar:whoa

THANK GOD there's someone else with the same issue! I knew I wasn't crazy. After seeing my car unlocked I always thought just MAYBE i forgot to lock it but then it continued to happen even when I made sure it was locked. Where did you get your Compustar System installed?

Yeah, I don't know scat about that model, although I read the manual on the link. My last shot at troubleshooting this; when you say the car is unlocked do you mean that the remote shows the car being unlocked or when you pull the door handle it is actually unlocked? The reason I ask is that my remote sometimes shows the car being unlocked even though I know I locked it. Funny thing is that it usually happens when I'm in the office well out of signal range (34th floor, 5 blocks from the car). When I get to the car it is physically locked, and if I query the car the remote updates and shows the car is locked.

you know it strikes me that there's a silly way to test this... lock the car, or walk away from the car with your remote. Then put the remote down somewhere safe (inside the house, etc) then walk back and see if the doors are still locked. If they are, I think you can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that it's working fine..
