View Full Version : Falken Summers
Does anyone have Falken ZE502 summer tires? I was suggested these by my mechanic. I need my 17" summer's replaced and I'd like to have them on preferably this/next week.
The reviews (http://www.1010tires.com/Tires/Reviews/Falken/Ziex%20ZE-502) give them a 3.8 out of 5.
Of course they're terrible in even a little snow, supposedly, but that shouldn't be a problem except maybe in the fall.
What do you think of them? I'll be doing highway driving in the summer on the weekends, but weekdays just driving a short distance back and forth to work.
I'm not a fan of falkens at all..
But alot of people run them
I know little to nothing about wheels and tires. Can you give me some reasons why you're not a fan?

I had falkens last summer..brand new tires and the one blow on the 401...so i replaced all the tires with BFGoodrich tires

On The flip side, I am running Falken 452's, as are two of my friends, and they have been great. This will be my third season with them.

Amen, mine lasted 2 summer and one of those summers was 8 auto-x events. I'd highly recommend the 452's else the 912's are a good compromise.

I had the same issue, replaced them also. I would never buy Falkens again.

I'm running the 502's, just put them on this past weekend. They're a bit slippery in the rain we had, great in dry though. Not sure in the warmer wet weather though.

Falken tires are great. We sell a ton of them, and no complaints.
If your looking for a budget performance tire, we have the Akina ST-09 for an amazing price :)
As for the 502... its a solid tire all around, except for rain. You will need to be cautious in the rain, but it hooks up nice in the dry. I would go with the ZE912 over the 502 any day.

i have the Falcon ZE912 and they are awsome! i think i was told they have only 7% of allseason compound mixed in with them, so they are great summers and last a bit longer, but even tho they are technically allseason they aren't good in the winter at all. as soon as i drove off the lot at simply tire i could feel a big difference. i love them!

Have you considered the Barum Bravuris 2, great budget summer tire and very good reviews.

i used a set of 512's last year, i loved em. real quiet tire, good fuel economy, and i got em for free haha. good dry traction, decent wet traction.
might be picking up a set of 502's soon, or something used. not sure yet.

615's are on the edge of discontinuation. If he really loves them he hasn't tried a modern extreme summer.
