So Blue Cross of Texas won't cover the surgery a 10 day old baby needs on his heart because...
Now sit down and wait for it!
The heart condition baby Houston has was "pre-existing" according to the Insurance Company. :bang
Yeah, this is clearly the insurance industry the Republicans needed to fight so desperately to protect.

The problem is more complex than you think. Under state law you cannot buy insurance for someone that has yet to be born. So they have to wait for the little guy to come out before buying health insurance for him. Once he's out they can buy it. However he has the heart condition while he was in the womb so the insurance company is in essence right. The parents could have saved themselves so much grief if they had just gotten the little guy insured prior to his doctors diagnosing his condition.

And this is why the US health care system is a complete joke. It makes me sick to my stomach.
Messed up, and what I don't get is how opposed most Americans are to the changes Obama is trying to bring in. Read any US forum with threads about it. Blows my mind how stupid your average American is.

(My family has lived in the US, (Virginia) for the past 12 years, so I have a lot of first hand knowledge on the US healthcare system and insurance companies as both my mother and sister work in the health system.)
