Guys I own a 2004 Mazda 3 and I recently noticed rust was creeping up on my car. I brought it to Mazda of Toronto and was told my due date was up on March 1st. I am completely disappointed because I brought the car to service there for the past few months despite me living in LONDON because I enjoyed the service. I had to call to ask if it was covered (after the photos were taken 1.5 weeks ago) and I had the lock replaced on the same door rust is forming. I feel like the mechanic that was working on that back door should have notified me that rust was forming so I could claim my warranty while it was still valid. I brought the car in about 20 days after the rust extension was over. What are my options now? I feel like I should be covered. A car should not be rusting the way mine is for a 2004. Should I call the Service manager at Mazda of Toronto? Should I call the service manager? I'm so upset, I'm thinking about never serving there again and telling my parents forget servicing there as well!

if its past the extention period than mazda probably wont help you. its not really MOTs fault though, its mazda HQ that makes the final decision. you should talk to somone at the dealership and see if they can call and try to work somthing out for you. im actually going through the same process with my 04.

they are taking pictures and sending them into mazda. its past the 6 year extention but the service guy ive always gone to said he can probably get them to cover some cost. but that could mean anything..

MOT has been really good so far.. i had quite things done there. Rear Shock changed, new door lock, transmission panel, oil change, alignment and battery change. its been great so far, i wish they told me that there was rust forming! my door is gonna fall off!

Call Mazda Canada.
I did.

They told me there was no official extension of the warranty, and that they are going over all of the cars on a case to case basis as they are submitted.
