So about a week or two ago, I decided to trade in my 2007 Jeep Wrangler for something a little smaller and more economical and low and behold I found a nice shinny Red car that looked like a rocket ( Mazda speed3) I test drove it once or twice and then decided to tell my wife about it and see ehat she had to say. To my amazment she thought it was a good idea to get a new(used) car. I took her to Mazda Of Orangeville and said do you like this one and she was all for it, took her for a drive and she fell in love after about 10 minutes driving in the car. We went back and said this is the car that I want what can we do. They were very helpfull if not very knowledgeable about everything I was asking about the car but the questions I were asking were more to see what they really knew about there cars. I met the owner (Sunny) and he was hell bent on taking my Jeep and getting me into a Speed3. My overall experience so far has been great dealing with them and I would go back and buy another car in five years as long as they hold true to there service and warrenties. I have now had my 2007 Mazda Speed3 for 7 days and I have blown a rear shock, lets see what they will do.

AFAIK, shocks are not covered under warranty, let us know how it goes with Orangeville Mazda.

If the vehicle is still under the basic warranty there should be no issue with replacement. However if it is out of basic warranty, then it would be up to Orangeville Mazda to cover the expense. Most extended warranties, as well as M.A.P coverage will not look after a shock

So my blown shock has been replaced by Mazda of Orangeville at no cost to me(YEAHHHHHH). they were very hesitant about covering it. I had told them I have had the car for 7 days do something or I will and low and behold it was fixed. I watch the tech change out the bad one for the new one and off I went. We are now in week 3 or 4 now and I have had to take the MS3 in for a air bag warning light. Simple enough right, plug in the OBDIII get the code fix the problem. These guys I tell you, they made me fell as if they were doing me a favor by doing there jobs. they tried to make me pay for this simple fix (clean connector under seat and replug in) $147.56 plus tax. Let me tell you The owner Sunny walked past and I blasted off. I had asked about the warrenty for the SRS system. no answer. I asked if this was checked during the safety and was told they dont check the connections during saftey. seems odd but oh well. not to sure how much longer my good nature is gonna be around for these guys.

Stay away unless you have to. We bought the 2004 there when it was Copping and had a pretty good experience (other than one problem, which they did eventually fix). After the change, nothing but problems! We will never go back to Orangeville Mazda!

Unfortunately I think what we have is some city folk coming north to "make some money off them there country bumpkins".
I read that report....lets review the numbers.....96 months (8 years) and still $7000 left to pay????? WTF. How much for what is the question there.

You know what's funny, I bought my 2007 MS3 from Mazda of Orangeville as well. And it came with a blown rear shock! Luckily I had the car checked out by my own mechanic before purchase and he caught it.
So that's two speed3's with blown shocks coming out of Mazda of Orangeville. I know it's a common problem for these cars, but when doing a safety you have to take the wheels off to check the brakes and shit. How hard is it to identify a blown shock leaking oil?
Maybe it's coincidence, but ... still ... enough to make me suspicious.
My car also had a loose serpentine belt tensioner. I had them throw one in for free. (Just the part, I've got it sitting around as a spare. Was not installed).
My experience (this is last Auguest) at Orangeville was okay. Not exceptional, but fair. I got a good price for the car, and a good price on my trade. Still miles ahead of Gyro Mazda in Toronto!

Well from my experience a shock can be perfectly fine one day and blown the next, thats not to say that it may not have been leaking...BUT also I might add that with our wonderful ontario safety regulations....a leaking shock is not considered a safety issue. The shock only has to be attached at the top and bottom as the law reads...
So screwey

why is this a sad story? A shady dealership who ripped people off and hurt it's parents comanies image got what it deserved. This should be a happy day for anyone who values honesty and integrity. Also this sends a strong message to other dealerships "don't f*@k around with our image"
Let's hope for the sake of all car enthusiasts this scares dealers straight.

I was only saying that it's a sad story because of the fact that they took advantage of a helpless person. I'm sure it has happened before but because no one came forward they got away with it.
I agree that on the flip side it is a good thing that Mazda of Canada stepped up and did the right thing. Which was a no brainer in my opinion. If they hadn't it surely would have been detrimental to Mazda's reputation.

Thanks for the clarification dude. When I read it it almost seamed as if it was sad that the dealer got shut down.
