View Full Version : Engine Shiver / Variable RPM

I know I read about this somewhere else but I've tried looking and can't find the thread. Anyway, I noticed lately that after I start my 2010 3 (4 months old), the engine shivers and the RPM goes up while it shivers. It does this about 6-7 times in a span of about 4 minutes.
I know the car is relatively new, but would this be the alternator? Or something else? Or is this completely normal?

When it does this, do you have a/c or fan on? See if it shivvers with fan on 0 (off)

OK so this morning I turned the car on with the fan off (on 0) and the engine didn't shiver this time so maybe the shiver does have to do with the fan but not 100% sure so I'll try after work again. Would you happen to know why?
