Really weird....I played hockey last night, got to the arena and took my stuff out of the trunk...closed it all up and hit the LOCK button on the fob, lights blinked and i heard the locks lock. After the game, I went back to the car to leave, hit the UNLOCK and lights blinked and doors were open.

Got home, opened up the trunk and took my bag out. Closed the trunk and hit the LOCK button....nothing happened.

Woke up this AM, tried the backup key fob...nothing happens.

My wife drives my car on the weekends to work - she just called me - everything working again...WTF?

Did i leave a door open just slightly? Seems like some little nuance caused the fob's not to work.:bang

I would say that a door was ajar. Keep an eye on it though just in case.

Might the be battery going in the fobs. I know you tried the backup one, but, realistically, they spend most of their time doing nothing. So the shelf-life of the batteries are going to be more of a factor in how long they last more than how much you use the fob. And since the fobs are the same age, it is not impossible both need new batteries.

maybe the trunk isn't latched all the way? sometimes the switch can be faulty... there was a TSB for this on "mysterious battery drain" because the trunk light just stays on!
