Hi, I looked through the listed TSBs and didn't find any TSB related to this issue for the 2007+ models... is there one at all? Mine does it when cold, and I'm just wondering if I missed it somewhere...

Now I may be mistaken as I have no access to TSB's rights now but I think the tsbs were for earlier years. 04, 05. Halfway through 06 there was an updated brake pad that was supposed to help with squeal. In the morning your first stop is likely to make a little noise though. Just the way it is...

Yeah, it squeals for the first couple stops, but it goes away afterwards. I just think that it shouldn't do it at all if the brake pads and hardware are still good.

Most people's brakes squeak for the first little bit, unfortunately, but eventually fades.

I'm not sure about this "updated brake pad" unless you install ceramic pads instead. Pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong or if I'm using this reference in reverse) it's the new metallic pads that create the sound and there's not much you can do for it. As well, my mom previously had a 2006 and they also made a lot of noise when reversing in damp weather so I wouldn't really call it an "update".

As far as I know, with my father being a mechanic and having replaced my brake pads recently, most of them have a warranty of some sort. The ones I have keep a lifetime warranty. (They also make a a lot of noise as of lately) but he said I can have them replaced at any time if the sound bothers me that much, but it will likely just return. Not sure if Mazda will honour that, or if the pads they use have any warranty at all.

All that being said, don't worry too much about it. It's not a huge deal.

It is possible for your brake pads to make a little noise even if they are in perfect working order. If you are uncomfortable with the noise it is making jsut mention it to your advisor the next time you are having something done and it can be checked. Just a little peace of mind if you would like.
