Ok sounds simple I know but please, hear me out.
I'm looking for a set of summer tires sized 225/45/17. But heres the catch I need them to be 8" wide.
When I try to shop online, most of the stores will only select 7".
I'm willing to take a trip to the US if they are a better price but I still can't find any 8".
Please share your knowledge!
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried contacting any of the sites wheel/tire sponsors? Simply Tire? Tires23 ? Exclusive Wheel and Tire ? GoForTires? Nextmod ? I'm sure on of them carries tires to fit your requirements.

your post doesn't make sense, 225 = 8.8".
if you're looking for a wider tire then you're not looking for a 225 tire.

I dont' quite understand the question...
Are you looking for a tire to fit an 8" wide rim?? A 225 width tire that is EXACTLY 8 inches?
Because unless you're running a 225 from Hoosier or something, your 225 will fit on an 8" rim. (If you're looking for a used set, I'll be selling a set of 225/50/17 Advan S4's)
I ran 225's on my 16x8 FD rims, as well as 235 r-comps on a 17x8 rim as well..

That is what I am running: 225/45R17 ZE912s on 17"x8" Enkei RPM2s.

Anything from 215-245 would fit the 8" rim. 225's are optimal, but people have stretched 205's to stuffing 285's on an 8" rim before.
Not sure what the panic is about.

Not a panic at all just wondering if anyone out there knew where I could find some as I am having a tough time.

i still don't think you understand tires.
The "225" is the width of a tire, also known as the "section width". This is the width of the tire in millimeters at its widest point from sidewall to sidewall.
So for instance, the Falken 452s at 225/45/17 are approved to fit on a rim 7" to 8.5" wide. That value is pretty standard but may vary by a small amount depending on the manufacturer.

I think you should check out the sticky in the Wheels and Tires sections to understand about tires. All you need to do is do some research and understands Tires 101
