I have an 05 Mazda 3 with about 110 km on it, I first took it to Toronto Mazda and the manager there took a pictures of the rust and said he would call me when he gets an answer from Mazda Canada. So I waited for a month or so and no calls from him. Then I Go to Mazda Avante and Ted looks at the car and takes pictures and says the car has had a rear end collision before and the rear wheel wells won’t be covered but the doors would be; now this was about 3 months ago. So he told me that I should come back at end of March, since the car could still rust further and... Keeping in mind that my warrantee ends mid April. So I trusted him that he would get my car fixed.

Then I went back to him about 2 weeks ago and he told me to go to their body shop to get some pictures taken of it and then sent to him and he would send it to Mazda Canada. Since then I have called him twice and first time he said he hasn’t got an answer from Mazda Canada, Second time I call ( Yesterday ) he says that he sent my car photos and a couple of other cars with the same rusting problem and they got approved and still no answer about my car.

I'm now worried that they don’t want to spend the money to fix my car and are trying pull this as long as they have to till I run out of warrantee.
But again I took my car in before the warrantee had ended and it shouldn’t be my fault that they are taking so long to get this going, am I right or am I Right? haha

I'm really pissed off at them,:flaming any advice or comments?

Thanks
Car estimated at about $3000 for the fix.

Why didn't you go back to MOT the first time. You have to stay on top of these things or they will over look you.

I thought he didn't want to approve my car for the fix, and then i met a member here who had done his car, and he said he did it through Avante, and they did it right away, so i went there ensted.

I am more on the parts end of things but two dealers trying obtain approval on the same rust repair could slow things down. Send off some flags..... I do not think it is the dealer trying to get out of the repair, the job makes money for them. Just make sure to follow up. Good luck

huh..that's weird. I took my car to Waterloo Forbes Mazda and they got back to me in about a month. My car was fixed shortly thereafter. I never had to keep on top of them, they were really good about contacting me to let me know what was going on. They even gave me a rental over a weekend because I went back to pick mine up when they said it would be done- and I found car in pieces in the parking lot! :flaming

I'd be carefull though... because the warranty will only cover what mazda canada considers to be a product flaw that is causing rust. So you still might have to fork out cash for the area affected by the past collision. But either way don't stop bugging them! Because they'll just forget about you if you do.

btw. There is a stickied thread at the top of the previous page full of experiences of people who have had to deal with the same type of thing. So I would suggest giving that a good look over.

Okay guys good news, car is in the shop right now and was approved by Mazda Canada after all. WOW that took long. and the body shop owner was so generous to give me a 09 Honda Civic since the time I dropped the car till the car is done. Now that's a sick deal.

Thank you everyone for all the mess and thanks for all the pointers, will update you all as soon as I get some news on the car.

Just got the car back from Prochilo Brothers bodyshop, car looks sooo much better. color turned out very nice and shiny, and they treated the car from inside out with different products to not let the rust come back for a long time.

My car was repaired by Agingcourt Mazda 2 years ago and last year because rust came back right away. I dont think they properly fixed it as Rust was back within 6 months. Now 9 months later Rust is back! THey said they will not cover it now. I still have 2 months before my 5 years. Also i hears its supposed to be 6 years warranty or 5 years rust?
