Hey guys, I'm planning to install HIDs on a 2007 and everything I could find was on the low beam/DRL bypass solutions which doesn't apply to me... Does anybody have a writeup on how to install this? My worst case scenario would to bring it in to get it done as there are numerous feedbacks here from ppl who got it professionally installed but it seems like an easier job to do and I wouldn't mind gettin my hands dirty..

Where is mit-gee-mui to pull up many threads from the past to help me.? lol

It's very straight forward. Are you using a wiring harness to hook it up or are you just going straight to the stock connectors? I have mine going straight to the connectors and it's been fine for 2.5 years.

Well I don't have the parts yet but I'm planning to get them off a sponsor. Does the wiring harness come with the HID kit?
I will be getting spacers and relay harness. Can you also plz explain to me the difference if I use the wiring harness or going straight to stock connectors?

The extra harness doesn't always come with a kit. You will have to ask the supplier. Using a harness is usually better because it reduces the amount of strain on the electrical system and wiring. The only difference would be is that you have to wire up the harness and possible safety precautions. Like I said before, mine are running right off the stock wiring and they are fine. It's always suggested to run a harness but not always mandatory.

For 2007 you don't need to do any DRL by-pass since the DRL is on your highbeams.

If you do want to deactivate the DRL for whatever reason then you simply pull the DRL fuse from the fusebox located in the hood.

I think he knows that the DRL issue doesn't apply to him as he mentioned it in his first post. :)

I was doing a search and was able to pull up this thread: http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?11629-How-To-Prolumen-HID-Install-With-Relay-Harness/page2

I'm assuming this is a good install reference to go by?

Will do. I'm getting the parts on Saturday.

Since my DRL's are running from the high beam, I don't need to use a relay harness, is that correct? Seems like I need more research. lol

Alright, just waiting on parts and ready to tackle this.. I'm sure i'll be able to find a good writeup on this.. I'll just skip those whole disable drl/relay harness steps

In the middle of install right now.. It's pretty straightforward if you don't need a drl bypass.. My passenger side retention clip is being sooooo stubborn right now.

Ok so I got the connections up and going and this is probably gonna be a stupid question.. How do I get that round rubber thing to go back on? I tried slipping the wires through the center hole but theres another smaller rubber piece attached to the wires that's too large for the center hole.

It has to be on the outside of the stock rubber thing. Push it through so it's on the outside.

OMG, I can't believe my only hiccup was to get that stupid rubber guard thing back on :bang
But in the end, SUCCESS! It's definitely easier to read these threads with the parts in front of you.

Can't wait until night time to check em out and maybe unleash some fury onto the pickups and SUVs that blind me on the roads.. j/k :loco

I met up with Brendan on Friday to pick up a 6000K HID kit from him and low and behold an hour later it was installed.. Later that night I took some pics..

Please comment and let me know if there are any issues you can see with cutoff, height, etc as I'm concerned with blinding oncoming traffic or cars in front of me.

ericssonfan - looks very nice! I was also considering a 6000K set-up. Did you get your fogs done with HID lights as well? From the picstures they look halogen... but i wasn't sure.

nice man. the cutoff looks good, and the height looks fine. i installed my HID kit on my 04 last year and ive never had a problem with blinding. don't worry they seem really bright at first but you'll get used to them.
