Hello everyone, I just picked up a set of magnum rotors and HPS pads from Peter, and I read the instruction on the HPS pads, it tells you to flush the brake fluid after install. For the people with these installed, did you have to do a brake fluid flush?

Not required.

Not needed, but it's smart if you haven't done so in the past year or two.

Smell the fluid if it smell burn then time to do it otherwise you don't need to.

What? Brake fluid doesn't burn, it can vaporize, which introduces air bubbles. The other concern is that brake fluid absorbs water, which lowers it's boiling point, which makes overheating the brakes and brake fade more likely.
Really, costs $10 for a L of DOT 3 fluid at CT, and all of 20-30 minutes with a buddy to replace the fluid. Good preventative maintenance.

how do you bleed them?

Not a bad description, (http://krystmsgarage.com/?p=300) but I would NEVER suggest bleeding the fluid onto the ground like he's doing there. Brake fluid is corrosive and can remove paint from metal if it gets splashed on it. Get a length of rubber tube and bleed the old brake fluid into a container. An old oil bottle works great, as does an old jug of windshield washer fluid.
To completely change the fluid, bleed the brakes as normal, just keep adding fluid and bleeding the system until you've used the entire L of brake fluid. Make sure that you never run the reservoir empty, if the master cylinder starts to suck air you can damage it.

I just picked up Magnum/HPS combo from Peter, guess I'll need to pick up brake fluid. What should I go with?

Depends on how you treat your brakes and the application. If you just drive on the street regularly you can get away with something around stock specs. I'm running motul 650.

good advice guys the rubber hosing works the best as it does remove caliper paint, plus you dont want any spraying in your eyes.

I tried to search but didn't find it, how much fluid do we need? I have two 355mL bottles is it enough?

I bought 2 500mL bottles and we didn't even open the second bottle. I would suggest getting 1 or 2 more bottles just in case; if you can return them if you don't need them that would be optimal.
BTW I said Motul 650 above, but I think it's 600.

so my 710ml might not be enough?

I bought 1L just in case my brake system was thirsty, or some spilled. But as I said, we never opened the second bottle. Likely the 710 is enough but you'll be SOL if someone drops an open bottle or some spills. It's cheap insurance to buy an extra bottle and return it if you don't need it.
