Or 3000k hid kit.

Ryan is specifically running 3000k hids for his fogs. I am not sure if he has yellow lamin-x over the fogs but i assure you that yellow lamin-x + 3000k hids will give you a nice piss yellow colour. Its better than the nokya bulbs because those yellows have a shade of orange so its a little darker yellow and not a pure yellow like 3000k hids

Btw, if your interested he bought the hids from a sponsor on this forum. Check out THL Illumination Teknik or something like that. Thats the same kit as the one in the picture

HID fog?? i heard it will creat flares...which would blind the cars in front or comin cars.....so if HID makes the bright yellow color...how much it cost??
what is the color code??

probably cost around or less than 100 dollars, and its just 3000K hid, all 300K hids are yellow...

+1 I have exact same thing 3000k HID fog + Lamin-x

but I would also like to try 6000k HID + lamin because I like the yellow/greenish colour.

Yeah I'd go with HID bulbs if you wanna do fogs.. I put my stock halogen bulbs back in because the nokya yellows (non HID) kept burning out.

I think i am almost insulted! I am NOT driving a "wagon" :chuckle

As for the lights, I am using 3000K HIDs and yellow film. The film though is not Lamin-X. It is something different. It was put on by a company up in Markham. Shinzo http://www.shinzostore.com/

Here are a couple more shots with the 3000K HIDs + film

you guys are all wrong, you have to change the halogen fluid from clear to yellow.

Donutz

I tried that but it threw off the calibration of my flux capacitor, so I went with a PNP HID kit.

I swapped my 3000k bulbs to 6000k. Better color showing through the yellow Lamin-X.

do you guys find that with 3000k fogs without the lamin-x they kinda appear greenish yellow? Also how bad is the glare you guys are finding with the hid fogs?

Mine is yellow yellow. They had a greenish hint when I first installed them.

i also have 3000k fogs on my car but i dont have the laminx film. the HID kits are plug and play so you just plug it into the the stock wiring and away you go. they go for around ~$100 a kit

really?? so is simply plug in and done??? wow thats simple, i thought it would be like my HID head lights, it guy installed for me took him hours to install it with harness..
so i dont need adapters or anythin??? so ur fog lights are as yellow as "cwp_sedan"????
thnx

Yes, PNP hid kits installed as fogs are that easy. All you need to do is plan out the location of your ballasts and the route of your wires. Install should take you 1 hour at the most. Search the forum and you will find all the info you need. Depending on where you're located I'm sure you could convince someone to give you a hand installing your kit.

You need to remove your bumper first. You drive a subaru so i dont know how to remove your bumper. But like Jason said, the only challenge is finding a location to mount the ballast. Other than that, its the stock connector plugged into the ballast, and then the ballast into the bulbs. Thats it. Shouldnt take that long but removal of bumper and putting it back on may take you a while if it is your first time

what about just adding the yellow lens film on top of the stock fogs. Anyone know how it looks?

That's what these are. They look fine.

Not mine but here's an example.

That's people who run the over wattage halogens, like 65w+ super brights. Housing wasn't designed to withstand the heat.

Soyabean

People who run the Nokya yellow bulbs with the yellow lamin-x film will definitely burn the film as Nokya bulbs produce an outrageous amount of heat. Mazdakitten can tell you that as her newly applied yellow laminx got burnt in less than a week after she put it on.

On the otherhand, my gf has yellow lamin-x on her fogs but is running stock halogen bulbs. Those are fine and she has ran them for 1 1/2 years and there is still no burnt mark on them *knock on wood*

my Nokya bulbs haven't burned my lenses.... weird! I have been considering the lamin-x for a while, but not sure if it is worth it other than for looks?? I don't think it would be "more yellow" or even "more output" as I wouldn't be changing the bulbs....

Do you have OEM glass front fogs? Do you do alot of highway driving? You'll want Lamin-x

I have OEM GT fogs and do a lot of highway driving. Are you saying I should be using Lamin-x instead of Nokya yellows? So far, it's been between 8 and 12 months that I've had these bulbs and so far no issues.

Soyabean
05-19-2010, 09:37 PM
i think the main reason why Gizzmo is saying you should use lamin-x if you have oem fogs is because they are made of glass. Furthermore, driving on the highway means going at a faster speed and if a rock were to hit the glass housing, it may crack or chip the glass on the fogs. There quite a few members who had their fogs broken because of rocks on the highway.

^^ ding ding ding. Ya Soyabean said what I missed. what I meant by was you should have lamin-x, or the like, the shear fact of saving your fogs for the day when a rock is coming your way. Colour is just benefit or personal choice really.

You can also get clear instead of yellow. I agree that it is better safe than sorry. My buddy's ralliart has a broken fog housing and it looks ugly. Plus it is expensive to replace

I love them, no problems, direct plug and play.

AHH...Ok, that's what you meant. Good to know. Might try that at some point then but so far like how it is now.

Mike
05-20-2010, 08:52 AM
so you're saying the lamin-x provides protection from rocks? Kinda like a clear bra I'm assuming? That might be the excuse I need to get some. My buddy smashed his fog like that and it's more than $15 to replace!
