Trading value of a pair of RX-8 rims + tires

I have a co-worker with a decent set of RX-8 rims, they've been sitting in his garage for while. I am thinking about buying it, but the more I think about, the more I would want something else(read below!). Granted, he is selling me them for an asking price of $800 which is pretty decent for them, but I've decided that I would prefer something else, they're nice and all, but I'm a fan of spoked rims.

So, these rims have do curb rash on them(I'll take pics, haven't seen them in person yet) but besides that, they seem great. No warping, and the tires are Dunlop Sport 8090, 225/45/R18, used for about 20,000km.

So here I am thinking, what is the trading value of these rims(or rims+tires). I'm looking for something like the MS3 or MS6 rims.

Or should I just leave it alone, and wait for someone to sell their MS3/MS6 rims.

I have picked a few recent (within the past year or so) examples to show you so that you can calculate your own trading value. Some are mint, some are powdercoated, some have no tires, etc., but you can adjust the price to match what you think is appropriate. I have tried to show you a general range of highs and lows for each rim.

Thanks, I did check alot of the threads beforehand using search, but as I am not supposed to post 'Interest' threads on the BST forums, I resorted to posting it here.

In addition, market value sometimes fluctuates, and value is perceived differently in different point of views.

Thanks again, especially the RX8 ones, since the search function doesn't seem to allow me to search variables under 3 letters :P
