May 1st, 2010 - C7 Spring Tour

[Spyder01]

From the group who organized the C7 Fall Tour each year comes a beginning of year event. The C7 Spring Tour! With this being a driving event, who cares about clean cars clean wheels... we drove through hot dry sunny roads in sauga and right through a thunderstorm with pouring rain then right back to be sunny and dry again at the Toronto Motorsports Park where this tour ended. Passing through some of Ontario's nicest scenic routes like the Grand Bend River scenic road, the over 100 participants of this event got to drive and see some gorgeous spring scenery. Even though it rained a little bit, I thought it made this cruise even better!

^ Woah! didn't even hear about that. I just remember seeing the whole bmw club at the tim horton before the track. Those hairpin turns were fun! hard to lose control though since they were so slow

And at Cayuga... a Porsche GT3 scraped the wall after losing control, damage all over the rear =(

Well here are my pics from yesterday.
The day started off pretty bad i had to go into work at 5. i didnt finish till about 8:30 and at that point i rushed home and showered, went to the gas station filled up went to the bank and headed straight to oakville. sorry i skiped the pre-meet guys i was running late. soon as i got to amc within 5 min the 5 of the 14 TM3 members that signed up showed up. For those members that didnt show you guys suck. around 10 we headed out following the hond fit guys. the Cruise was very nice, however the residential neighbourhoods could have been avoided. nice scenery but the rain held us back from alot of photo ops. bad mistake following the fit guys as they were always going the wrong way. i lead for about 50kms till we got lost and luckly ben had a gps to get us back on track. ben lead the rest of the way to cayuga.
i originaly went to the track for the 1/4mile however it was closed so i debated on going on the road course, after some though while taking a sitting on the toilet becmoning 10 pounds lighter i decided to run the road course. at 50$ it was perfect. i ran 8-9 laps progressivly getting faster each lap. my car completly suprised me with how well the power came down and how well balanced it was thorough the turns. most importantly the car was soo easy to drive fast around the track. the highligh for me came when the proche gt-3 came flying behind me on the straight. i was within 2-3cars lenghts by the time we had to break for the turn at 180km/h.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Sorry I couldn't go. This was the only week end available to go to Montreal, so I had to miss out on the cruise. I regret missing the track time a little bit. Oh well, I guess there's always next time.
