Crashes happen in motorsport. Sometimes they are small, sometimes they are big. And sometimes they are very much flying.

Portuguese Angolan driver Ricardo Teixeira had such an incident at the second race of the Formula 2 season in Marrakech on Sunday.

Attempting a pass on Ivan Samarin who slowed as he saw his adversary, Teixeira promptly slammed into the back of Samarin's gearbox. And then went flying.

"At first I was angry at him...and then I realised I was up in the air", Teixeira reported.

He went skyward, vaulted four cars and barrel-rolled to a finish, emerging - quite miraculously - uninjured.

Watch from 1:00m onwards...

that was absolutely insane! It's still not as bad as that porsche GT1 that does a back flip.

Yeah, I saw that Le Mans prototype flip before...but I don't think I ever saw a car launch that far over other cars before...

Yeah, when I first saw it I thought it was that car going to go flying...then I saw the guy fly over him and thought "Wait, where the F did HE come from?", then watched the rear view in the replay and was amazed :chuckle

I love that quote. I'd like to be angry but I'm busy learning how to bring this faux plane in for a controlled crash that may resemble a landing.
