Wondering if anyone that works for ROGERS cable can answer this - or if anybody else has done it.
Looking at hosting a big UFC night but based on the amount of people attending - there's no way they can all fit in one room comfortably
So I was wondering if I order the PPV fight - can I watch it on more than 1 TV/digital box at a time? or am I going to get hit with 2-3 rental fees?
Thanks in advance

very interesting question... would a cable splitter work if you put it AFTER the box?

1 order per set top box., if ur planning to order on 2 boxes, order 2x sd or 2x hd, cause hd has a 3-5 second delay when viewing live. u dont wanna hear cheering and booing in 1 part of the house a few seconds before a KO. lol

you'll be charged per box. splitting the signal after the box will work, but they're gonna be long cable going from 1 room to another :chuckle but it'll work :)

Call Rogers billing and explain the situation, they usually help you out. One time, a guy told me that if they see a movie was ordered twice on the same day, the billing system automatically charges you for one, don't take my word for it but call and ask.

just be like "my wife ordered it on the upstairs TV because she thought we were going to watch it in bed, but I was downstairs making popcorn and getting it all set up when I ordered it"

If only Rogers was that stupid. They will probably lock the first box off when they add it to the other.

I've split the output signals before on a ROD and it came out like shit.
1 coaxial and 1 RCA
I think thesignal weakened and started freezing and getting choppy

if it is in standard format, you could use a signal booster and a splitter, but the signal will be choppy.
if it is in HD, you are out of luck.

call in and ask the agent to order it for you...
e.g. if you order the HD version and you have 4 HD boxes, it'll work on all 4. but if you have lets say 2 SD boxes, those will not work unfortunately.
e.g. If you order the SD version, it should work on ALL of your boxes.
If you have one digital box and you want it on multiple TV's, the only way to do that would be to split the output (whether it's coax or composite) to multiple TV's. I'd imagine that splitting the output would be too cumbersome.
Another option...
If you live i a house or in a home where all the cable are housed in a central room, you can hook up the box in that room, order it, then split the cables and connect it to the existing wiring that connect to the tv's in each room. Again, this would be difficult, but at least you wouldn't have wires running all over the place because you're using the existing, in wall cables. lol... Signal/picture quality is a whole other matter once you've connected it all up using the splitting method.
Good luck :)

Well if he's going to be hosting this type of thing more often, he can invest in one of these for HD.
