Hey guys,
Just purchased my car today; 2005 Mazda3 Sport GT in velocity red. 72,000km...needless to say I love it!
Through reading a bunch of posts here I compiled a bunch of things to look for, more notably the rust issues. This car is spotless, accept the rims?!? All 4 have some form of bubbling around the centercap, as if it is rusting from the inside. Would this be covered by Mazda? I mean, its not like its a rock chip or anything. I am going to try to contact someone from Mazda of Oakville and figure out if there is anything they can do.
Needless to say I love my new car, and can't wait to be an active member here on TM3. My old car was a Ford(mazda) Probe GT, and was a member on ONPOC and probetalk.com, so I look forward to trying to contribute as well as I can here.
I'll be posting pictures within a few days of my new car, can't wait to do some mods to it!

:FYI smiley
They are a bit outdated though.
It's actually a fairly common problem. Oakville should be able to take care of you though. Otherwise, there are a few suggestions for where you can go to get them refinished if you choose to do so.

Would Mazda fix it under warranty? I wonder how long it would take...hmm anyone have any Experience with this issue?

if you take your rims off for winter and bag them you have to make sure they are dry before you put them away otherwise the moisture wont evaperate and itll cause your rims to bubble like that, doubtful mazda would cover it but its worth a try! must of been the owner before you storing his rims.

Had all my rims replaced over 2 years ago under warranty, same issue bubbling at the center. Go to a dealer and ask for a replacement or call Mazda Canada, you are probably out of warranty by now.

I think his car is old enough now that it's out of warranty... I had 3 of mine repainted under warranty (stupid district manager didn't want to buy new rims)

They replaced yours? Holy crap I ask 2 dealerships and Mazda Canada, and all flat out refused! All 4 of mine were corroding. My solution was to get some used ones from an 06 they are much better.

Go to other Mazda dealership, when i was down at MOT for oil change, they replaced my shocks for free as it was leaking oil. :)
