..... well, not really. But it sure feels like it.

I'm out of town and the rental car is a Grand Marquis. The frikin thing is huge. The bench seat reminds me of my grandparents' sofa. And it heaves and rolls all over the place. I swear it feels like I am driving around in my living room! Although unlike my living room there is virtually no storage space in the front. Couple of hard-to-access door pockets, the ashtray, and a mail-slot of a glovebox. I guess they figure you'll keep everything in the ginormous trunk. The only saving grace is the V8 -- when you punch it, it punches right back with lots of oomph.

Well, there is one other, probably dubious, benefit. I am exploring the city by having the GPS take me from place to place (a.ka. known as shopping for stuff for my wife). There are lots of weird, confusing intersections here, so sometimes I am driving a wee bit erratically as I try to figure where I am supposed to turn and which streets the GPS does not know are one way. But no worries -- the other drivers keep their distance, because they figure the Grand Marquis is either a cop car (I wish) or is being driven by a dodering old fart.

Maybe tomorrow I will buy a hat to go with the car.

I miss my 3 :(

At first I thought this thread was going to be about crazy stuff in the car, i.e. video screen, game consoles, carputer, fridge, toilet, licorice dispensers, etc lol

That or an RV :chuckle

Where are you visiting right now?

I remember driving my buddy's buick riviera once with the supercharged v6.. man that thing was like navigating a boat with very sloshy steering!

I'm in Saint Louis.

If anyone has ever parked in the Drury Plaza hotel parking garage.... you will know how tight that place is. I kinda have to sneak up against a pillar to get the car all the way into a spot.

I'm actually starting to have fun with it.... it's great for just cruising along the highway, and you can throw it around pretty good despite the boat-like suspension. Although I still haven't found a place to stash my sunglasses!

Ah well, home tomorrow, yay! Right now I'm going to walk over to the arch and check out the Mississippi... it is supposed to be running quite high right now, so I want to see what is underwater.
