every once and a while when coming to a complete stop its hard to explain but i hear this sqeeky noise mixed with a bit of grinding and sounds like a robotic dog that i just ran over. wondering if anyone has had the same noise come from the back of their car. 2006 hatch GT. will prob just get someone to check it.

hmm, mines not lowered, but i didn't have the sound when i got the car about a month ago. My brakes work fine and there is no jerking motion when accelerating or breaking, just the sound the odd time, so i really dont know what it is.

If you guys are handy with the wrench, I would suggst to open up the wheel where you hear the noise and inspect :
1. See that the backing plate is not touching the rotors as it turns, bend it away from the rotors to make sure.
2. Clean the caliper pins regularly as mazda design is open to dirt and dust. Dont forget to apply grease when you put it in. You will need a hex / allen key socket size 7mm its not included in a set of allen keys so you will need to borrow or buy thes (less tahn $10)

Cleaning and freeing up of the pins will ensure free movement of your caliper system and even brake application from both inner and outer pads. Pads will align properly reducing unnecessary vibrations.

3. If you can ensure you have chamfers on leading and trailing edges of your pads, also to reduce vibration that can cause squealing brakes.

Also maybe time for an inspection/cleaning, your pads might be worn out already.

ill take the wheel apart this weekend when im off work, as for the pads being done already i just purchased the car 25 days ago, and dealer said he put on new brake pads, dont think they would be worn down that fast. hope not lol
