Hey everyone!
I'm a brand new 2010 M3Sport hatchback owner here. Just drove it home today. I love it!

I parked it in my driveway, and pressed the lock button twice, and the 'beep' didn't go off?
I checked the hatch door to see if it was closed and it was. All doors locked, and again - it didn't go off.

I tried pressing the red button, and nothing.

What did I do wrong?

HELP! Thanks!

You have to hit the button again witin 5 seconds after first hitting it.

If not, the car is brand new, take it back to the dealership to fix under warranty

Do the lights flash when you hit the lock button?

This is an option under the 'Personalized Settings" for the car which is only adjusted by the dealership. Go to your manual and look at the very back near the index for a chart that has all the options.

"Keyless entry: The function allowing the horn to sound automatically when the doors are locked by pressing the transmitter two times consecutively can be deactivated. --> Default Activated"

No clue why they would deactivate yours though... Take it back to the dealership and have them try to put it back.

check your hatch.... it may not be fully closed.

otherwise bring back where you bought it.

Wow! Thanks everyone for all the great responses!
As it turns out, it was the hatch. I remember the sales guy mentioning that whenever I open the hatch, I'll hear a 'click' when it's opened, so, when I go to close it, I have to wait a a few seconds. So, when I actually have it closed properly, and lock my doors by pressing the button twice, THEN I'll hear the beep. This is supposed to be some sort of indication that even though my doors are locked, the hatch may not be closed properly.

Thanks all! :)

ZOOM ZOOM! hehehe!!

Glad you got it all sorted out.

I too just got a M3S and it took me a few days to get used to closing the hatch. Give it some ooompf and she'll close properly.

Congrats on the purchase as well! What colour did you get? If you haven't done so already, head over to the New User's Lounge and post an intro with some pics!
