I wouldn't be using the track yet, but the down road possibly.. maybe some drag racing at the track but that's it...
Ya I was looking at the dunlop z1 star specs as well. I'm leaning towards the dunlops or the Toyo TR1

S. Drives will chunk during tracking/lapping. It may hold out during auto-x, not sure. S. Drives has decent grip even near freezing temps.

I would say go with the Hankook V12. It came in 2nd to the Dunlop Z1 Star Spec in a Car and Driver (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparisons/09q2/tire_test_nine_affordable_summer_tires_take_on_the _michelin_ps2-comparison_tests/hankook_ventus_v12_evo_page_10) comparison.
If you're not going to be using the tires at the track/auto-x, it is a waste of money to get the Star Specs. It's probably a $200+ difference between the Star Specs and the Hankook V12.
You will not push the Star Specs to the limit on the road that the Hankook V12 can't handle. The V12's were better than the Star Specs around the skidpad (both wet and dry) and are a quieter tire. The Star Specs, which have a 200 treadwear rating, are known to wear fast vs. a 280 on the Hankook V12.
Bottom line: If you're not tracking or auto-xing, for the money, the Hankook V12 really can't be beat.

I have the Toyo T1R and they have great traction on dry and wet roads! I love them

T1R's are too expensive for what you get. I'd avoid. Only two Toyo's I'd buy. The R1R or the R888.
On your list get the V12's. I'd also look at Kumho SPT's, the *Specs, and Goodyear GS-D3's.
I took my SPT's to Shannonville last Monday and was blown away at the level of grip they had once they got hot. They're sticky as hell. I was taking the Fabi kink at the same speed as I was on my *Specs last year. Only caveat is the low temp grip was lacking, but that makes sense as it is a street tire. As the tire heats the rubber becomes sticky and will grip VERY well.
I was alternating between chasing and leading a Mini Cooper S on V12's and both of us were carrying the same speeds through the fast corners (1, 6, 12). When either one of us pushed faster, we would begin to lose the line. Tires were 215's on both cars.

I got all of them priced from 2 of our sponsors and the Hankook V12's are $200 and some cheaper and if they don't wear as fast, then that's even better.
Ya I could use the extra $200 to get my Digifit liners or another upgrade. I'm going to go with the Hankook V12's
Thanks guys for all your input.
