This is cool and everything however...
you can rip apart any retro gaming controller (i.e. NES controller) and install a usb drive or SD card for storage to save the emulator/ROMS and convert the cable connector to USB.

Set the USB drive to autoplay the emulator, plug the controller into a netbook and whammy, NES baby. All for under $300.
Repeat this process for multiple controllers and play some multiplayer battletoads with friends! booyah.
