Finally I've found some time to take some better pics of my new(ish) rims. Since these pics were taken I have installed rally armor flaps, but I'll save those pics for a different thread. Also freshly installed is the 04-09 VG sharkfin.

Enjoy!

(again, these are only slightly better than my first cell phone pics, my mom had my camera set on a very low resolution or something the last time she borrowed it...my bad!)

Looks good. I was also considering these rims for my car.

PS. I want to see some pics of your car with the flaps on! Want to see what they will look like since we have the same color car.

Looks sick!
Hey, is that a curt hitch u got on there? Did you enjoy trying to feed those bolts through the frame rails?...lol
What % tint do you have?

28% front, 20% rear. Shoulda done 20% all around. Yeah that's a Curt hitch on there...was kind of a pain but I installed it in my driveway totally level so that is likely half of the reason why it took as long as it did. Woudla been much faster on ramps or something LOL!

Yeah, I have the same hitch, and I also installed without ramps. PITA, but I love the hitch. It's really high quality, and you can barely notice it on the car. I did 23% all around on my car... but probably could have gone 17%. The 23% isn't nearly as dark as I thought - you can still easily see into the car... and my car is black on black with no sunroof.

Boy those sure are some clean and shiny looking wheels. I see you even take the time to wash the inside of the wheel.:chuckle

Paid roughly 1200$ cdn after shipping and duty. Price of wheels was 800 or 900 USD, then exchange rate, shipping and duty lol. Brought the price up. The rims and tires had literally 0 wear on them, perfectly mint.

I wish I had the cash to powdercoat these! I want a set of black Work Emotion CR KAI rims. Love them! When these tires need replacing....you never know what rims I will end up with! I don't feel like sinking another 300-400+$ into these heavy OEM rims to be honest with you. 24lbs per rim without tire. I LOVE blacked out cars.

Did you get these through your dealer?? These rims are really nice when I talked to parts guy at the dealership he said I was looking atleast a couple grand for 4 speed rims and tires.

Nah, got 'em from a guy in California who removed them from his stock Speed 3. They are well over 500$ per rim from your dealer, WITHOUT tires.

I wouldn't recommend these if you are looking for performance wheels. They are heavy. I'd love a nice set of lightweight aftermarket rims, but then...on the road racing wheels in 18 inches bend so dang easy. I want 17x8 racing rims but I'll do that when these tires are ready to be replaced, no one wants to pay me what I spent on these wheels, so I am stuck with them. People on this board are thrifty!!!

Used these will go for roughly 1000$ with rubber and everything, then sell your stockers for 500-800...makes these a cheap upgrade!

but then...on the road racing wheels in 18 inches bend so dang easy.

A lot of guys who tracks their cars will tell you otherwise. REAL race wheels are made tougher than regular heavyweight wheels. If they can withstand the abuse and heat coming from the brakes throughout the whole race, daily driving is nothing. Ive had lightweight 17" rims (Non-Race spec) bend on me while the tires were being mounted. Now the REAL racing wheels are different because they are made using different forging or casting technology than regular rims. Ive had 5 different sets put on my car so I know how they differ from each other. Advantage for using lightweight race wheels is Off the line acceleration is better and braking distance is shorter. I noticed this right away after switching from heavy rims to light race rims.

They bend easy on potholes. Most of the RPF1's sold on this site have at least 2 decent bends in the lips. It is the same reason why you don't use magnesium Marchesisni rims on sportbikes on the road.

Lightweight wheels are great for turn in, and spool up much faster. I want some, but I would hate to have to repair them every other year. Racing wheels are strong, but they are not designed to withstand potholes, they won't see that kind of use on the track. The other argument against really strong wheels is that instead of bending, they crack, ie magnesium racing wheels...so strong they are brittle.

Any kind of rims hitting a deep pothole will be damaged! Even those heavyweight ones. LOL Just ask Simplytire how many OEM alloy rims they've seen bent during normal driving. You should always avoid potholes period.
