Ive searched google forever. All i need to know is on the wiring harness going into the bose amp what colours are what? I need the remote, the Left + - and R+ - and the remote wire. Please help ive seen a million threads on google and most of them just use behind the head unit with a pac oem but i'm not using that.

Thanks

Rob

what are you trying to do? i just installed an amp and subs in my car with a remote turn on. I used a line level adapter off the speaker wires that goto the sub in the trunk. It sounds great!

im just installing an aftermarket sub. I can just use a line level adapter from the subwoofer wires in the trunk to turn them into rca's. What would i use for a remote wire?

yes that works best if your using the stock deck. Its very easy to pop off the center plastic console (cup holders). Its all clips. Once you get that off you can access the cigarette lighter wire. Make sure you use the one near the shifter as the one in the arm rest is a constant power.

have you run your power wire yet?

yeah its a 2010 mazda 3. Ill use that cigarette lighter as a remote. Right now i was just trying to figure out how to run RCA's to the amp. That works perfectly i just took the bose sub out and there are 4 wires that connect to it. Weird. Do i use all 4?

Yea that's your left and right channel. Negative and positive. You just need to buy the adapter to go from speaker wire to RCA's.

when i run the power wire i notice there are two positive wires going into the battery, is there a certain way to install this here?

From my digging around when I installed mine. There are really only 2 places to get power through to the engine bay on the 2010's. 1 if you drive manual.

first is behind the glove box... you'll see a round cutout in the fabric (it lifts up) against the firewall. behind it is a flat, round section of steel about the size of a coffee can. On the MS3 there is an actual hole and a wire bundle going through, but on the MZ3 it's not used, so it's just steel. This is probably the easiest location to go through as it's easy to access. Just drill out a hole, grommet and feed the wire through.

second is a spot in the drivers foot well. beside the brake there should be a plastic cover/plug. This goes right through into the engine bay apparently. It's the hole that would be needed for a clutch pedal (this is why if you drive manual, you won't be able to use this spot). BUT, from what I understand. It's a lot of work to get access to it on the other side (in the engine bay) as you have to remove battery, battery box and some other stuff.

I used the glove box method, faster, easier and worked well.

hmm thanks ill use the glove box way. ill just cover the wire up to protect it from heat!

there is a really good spot in the front passengers corner, no drilling.. its a piece of white plastic with a rubber grommet over it! I hate drilling into my new car!

thanks but i dont see where the gromet is on the engine bay picture. And i think that might be a speed thing?

I think that's the plastic plug that's on the speed3 only. On the non-speed's, the spot where that plug sits, is just flat sheet metal.
We also don't have that heat shield in the engine bay... interesting.
I was also pretty torn about drilling into my brand new car. I looked for a while. was really nowhere else to get a line through. sucks. at least this one is out of the way/up high enough and should stay clear of snow/water

-> I'll take a pic tomorrow morning when I get to work of where I ran my power line through the engine bay, keeps it pretty well out of the way of anything hot (similar to the pic above). Just a few zip ties here and there... I really do need to get some wire loom for it though. :( haha. don't judge!

the cable is seen a little bit on the right i need to strap that down, and on the left i covered the cable with the black plastic covers and put it through the firewall

so the sub doesnt move around you will see two tiny clip looking things on either side. they are drilled into the sub box, and into the foam floor pad with some long screws. I drive pretty hard with lots of twisties around here and it hasnt moved its in there REAL good. And i also mounted the amp to the back of the seat.

I used the spare jack as my spot for my negative battery terminal. It was the easiest spot i could find and works well.

Those are my pics any questions on install and i can explain.
